However, Cole has admitted that he could well consider his own options when the transfer window reopens if he too continues to be overlooked.

The youngster, who turned 22 on Saturday, has two years left on his Chelsea contract but conceded he was chomping at the bit for regular first-team action.

"I am confident in my ability - I am learning from world-class players. Once I get games you'll see the fruits," he continued.

"I felt the time was right (to be given a first-team chance) four or five weeks ago.

"I scored for England Under-21s against Austria and Poland and when I got back Jose put me on the bench and I wanted to kick on from there, but he held me back again and that was frustrating.

"Let's see what happens in January, you never know what will happen, but I'll talk to the manager and see what he wants to do with me.

"I've got two years left on my contract and I haven't set myself a time limit. I don't know what the answer is.''

Stomper i think you have the wrong Cole. Joey is about 24, i think you are talking about Carlton Cole. Joey hasn't played under 21's for years.

Seems like your local forgot to put the water in the beer Stomps.lol. Seriously, we have no chance of getting Joe back. We couldn't afford his wages, let alone the transfer fee. Be satisfied with our Yossi and NRC. Mark Noble may bring a little passion into the side if he gets in this week. Tony
