Carlos Tevez has been named Argentine athlete of the year by the association of Argentine journalists. He won the accolade together with basketball star Manuel Ginobili.

Matias Almeyda has signed for West Brom now.

I didn't know where to put this, so mods feel free to move this.

I didn't think he had it in him, but man 48 points, I knew the man was good but 48, ******** he lit it up tonight! I don't care if it was against the Suns who don't play D, not just anybody scores 48. Like I said, I knew he was good, but he stepped it up a level tonight, a level I never thought he had.

He was amazing. Regardless of the team he's playing for, he always puts his heart in the game.

Go Manu!

It's been great watching him improve each year. This coming from a die hard Rocket's fan.

Manu has a nice mix of old school shooting and new school driving skills. That game was awesome. The only issue I have is that in the west defense is rather weak. For instance the two handed dunk Manu had, there was two defenders just standing there looking at him. Manu should of at least been fouled. Put him on the line I say. That should not take away from this performance against the Suns, he came up big time.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but I'm becoming a basketball fan. At least when San Antonio plays...

Such is the impact that Manu has on the game.

Phoenix Suns guard Leandro Barbosa could miss up to three weeks with an injury to his left knee.

Barbosa has Grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee and is out two to three weeks, the team said Monday.

But while the diagnosis received a sigh of relief from the team, it offered little solace for Barbosa who believes the injury could have been avoided.

He was injured Saturday when Spurs guard Manu Ginobili fell into him. He did return to play in the second half of that game.

"Ginobili always likes to flop," Barbosa told The Arizona Republic. "Nobody even touched him.

"He jost flopped. That's why I feel sad to hurt myself like that," he added. "I wish I could have hurt myself in another way."

Suns coach Mike D'Antoni told the paper Ginobili "got tangled up a little bit" with Raja Bell when he stumbled backward, and "just to make his point, he was falling down."

"It was an accident," D'Antoni told the Republic.

Ginobili has been accused in the past of overacting to draw fouls; Suns forward Shawn Marion even joked about practicing his own acting skills during last season's Western Conference finals, the paper reported.

Barbosa was averaging 15.7 points in 25.8 minutes this season.

He's a good player, but I'm afraid he's never been the best in the league.

I think Manu is perhaps right behind Duncan though and as an overall player he certainly is one of the top 20 in the NBA right now. Watch for the Bulls' Nocioni , he is another Argie that will make waves soon.. a great power forward!! Also Delfino has his moments I just wish Detriot would give him a few more minutes.
