Stuart Pearce is apparently going to put a bid in for Czech International Tomas Galasek. He is currently at Ajax.

FOOTBALL SPY: PEARCE PLANS A GALA DAY

BOSS Stuart Pearce wants Czech Republic World Cup star Tomas Galasek to join Manchester City's push for Europe.

Pearce will watch the experienced midfielder in a World Cup play-off with Norway today.

Galasek will quit Ajax at the end of the season. City scouts have been trailing him for weeks and watched him play for his club last weekend.

Pearce, who has been talent-spotting around Europe, may decide to pounce when the transfer window opens in January, or wait until the summer.

Galasek would like to move to England and may be prepared to commit to City in the New Year if Ajax go out of European competition.

His Dutch club are currently trying to make the later stages of the Champions League - in the same group as Arsenal - and their progress may influence his decision.

Galasek's too old, i'd rather have Stephen Pienaar. He's a great attack-minded winger, and available on a free at the end of the season
