Bottle Rocket's so different. I like Rushmore the best, so I guess I'm predictable, but just because it was such a leap up from Bottle Rocket (which I thought was good). Rushmore seemed really new and fresh at the time, as well. I like Rushmore more than the Royal Tenenbaums, but I think that one's better for interweaving the different stories, and the emotional core of the characters.

I really enjoyed Royal Tenenbaums for its caricature of the American dysfunctional family. Plus the representation and acting in this film was unprecedented for a modernday comedy.

I think this is Wes's best work to date.

Great shouts, especially Oldboy.

Original, intelligent, and definitely twisted.

Highlight scene....the octopus

Wow, BI...Im really impressed by what youve seen and Id have to say we have similar movies tastes. Artistically, Korea has really jumped into the cinematography scene lately.

I did see Taegukgi. I was thoroughly entertained by the movie, and believe me, there are a lot of people out there who feel a lot stronger about this film. I just couldnt get passed some of the sappy cheeze that the film offered and the director, who obviously idolized Spielberg's war depiction in Saving Private Ryan, got a little overly camera-shakes happy. What did you like about it?

This movie for those who havent seen it is a depiction of the Korean War...lots of battle scenes and it is offered in Netflix's selection.

If you like Oldboy and Taegukgi, Billy, check out Chingu (Friend). I think Netflix has it as well. I think you'll like it man. About 4 childhood friends growing up in Pusan, South Korea (southern seaport) who each grow up to lead different lives but remain tight to the end. Its gangster.

Well, if we're going all-time, I'll have to weight in with 20 more...

1. The Godfather Trilogy (the 3rd was even pretty good, barring the last 20-40 minutes)... (1972, 1974, 1990))
2. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (at least with the live Aronovsky-esque soundtrack I heard a while back). (1914).
3. Dr. Strangelove (1964).
4. The Evil Dead Trilogy. (1981, 1987 & 1993).
5. Raging Bull (1980).
6. Clerks (1994).
7. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975).
8. Badlands (1973).
9. Apolcalypse Now (1979).
10. Chinatown (1974).
11. On the Waterfront (1954).
12. Twelve Monkeys (1995).
13. The Deer Hunter (1978).
14. The Usual Suspects (1994).
15. Jaws (1974).
16. M (1931).
17. Metropolis (1927).
18. The Wild Bunch (1969).
19. Seven Samurai (1954).
20. The Killer (1989).

You forgot Star Wars...would never think you'd put Badlands in your top ten.I personally prefer Nosferatu instead of Cabinet in regards to German Expressionism.

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Saving Private Ryan(How it lost to freakin' Shakespeare in Love for best picture is absurd.
3. Ronin
4. Elizabeth
5. Rounders - Just for Teddy KGB "Just like a young man coming in for a quickee, I feel so unsatisfied"

6. The Matrix. - the precision sound from this movie is astonishing on a good home theater. The rain, shell casings. oh my....

Rounders is an excellent choice... anyone who's a fan of poker (and I am NOT a fan of watching poker) should watch this movie and anyone else too... I was really really impressed with it.

Nice list, a bit suprised at Ronin, but I enjoyed it too...

@ Motter... very interesting list.
