In no order
City Of God
Traffic
Trainspotting
The Motorcycle Diaries
Heat
Heat barely makes it, being made in '95. Pulp Fiction would've bumped off The Motorcycle Diaries had it been made one year later.

I'd jjust like to say thanks for all the contributions and I hope you all enjoyed it whilst the INT break was on. It's due to die a death now, but I think it served its purpose well. :)

All of the movies mentioned in this thread would have been better had Michael Owen either directed or starred in them.
Wow andrew, that's taking your midget fetish a bit far isn't it???

Super list.
Saw State of Grace the other night....incredibly powerful movie. I have to say, Gary Oldman is the man. Him and Chris Walken are the only two Id see a movie theyre in on face value alone.
State of Grace...True Romance...Leon-Professional...The Firm...Airforce 1. He just doesnt go wrong. An English National Treasure.
Not a movie but psyched I just got my copies of Ewan Mcgregor's "Long Way Round"...series documenting his own motorcycle travels. Blew me away.

Along those lines, I'll highly recommend the documentary Michael Palin: Himalaya. Yep, the guy from Monty Python. Several of his travel documentaries are great, but this one is the best.

They actually published a book of the trip first. I forget which channel it is right now, but they are supposed to be rebroadcasting it here in the next month or so.

I love Oldman also but I would love to see another role like State of Grace or Leon before Harry Potter or Batman Begins

Yeah, but that's what so good about Gary Oldman - he is an absolute chameleon. I actually wasn't all too fond of his caracter in State of Grace & thought Harris and Penn did the best work in that movie.

This thread was fun... I've added a bunch of movies to my blocbuster online queue and have enjoyed alot of entertainment based on some people's recommendations...
Boileroom, which I hadn't seen before, was excellent.
I'll also add that I can't believe I missed My Girl... which was the first movie to make me cry (mind you I was 7 or 8 at the time I think).
