Seeds based on league position in the first week of the competition:

First round:
First 8 seeds receive byes.
Seeds 9 through 24 play each other, with 9 playing 24, 10 playing 23, 11 playing 22, etc. in a two-legged knockout competition, with aggregate advancing.

Second Round:

1 playing the winner of 16 & 17
2 playing the winner of 15 & 18
3 playing the winner of 14 & 19
4 playing the winner of 13 & 20
and so on

Third, fourth, and fifth rounds continue along the same formula. This will take 10 weeks, so we can set it up to end with the last week of the season.

Based on Dave's suggestion I have set this up to begin on January 1.

See: http://bengal.missouri.edu/~adamsm/lfc/bscup.htm for details

First round looks like this:

9 New York United v. 24 FOMUS

10 Dolemite FC v. 23 Raynham Farmers

11 1800-WorldCup.com v. 22 Needham SC

12 Nocturnal FC v. 21 Danbury City FC

13 FireFootyFan v. 20 Ironfoot

14 Clanblues XI v.19 The Tribe Warriors

15 Excelsior Novgorod v. 18 Tasman Archers

16 Rude Boys FC v. 17 Surfing Scousers

34 point defecit going into the second leg, and the opponent has totally conceded the league table, going for 9 transfers this week. Ouch.
