I've been taking French for 3 years, and the class is so advanced, only four people haven't failed out. I'm taking an AP test tommorow, which is for college credit, but my teacher told me that it's for fourth year french students. Oops. Anyway, I stayed after a few days to learn some things, but something I really need help on is slang. Like I tell the kids taking spanish "proper Spanish is improper Spanish," meaning that without slang, your language is off.

slang is interesting, there's such a wide diversity in terms of history and development (verlan, parisian slang, lyonnais, etc). What are you interested in learning about?
hmm, proper french is proper french lol. Better to master that and look good doing it, even though it might seem like you just came out of grammar school, than to stumble over how to express yourself while throwing in a few unconventional words.

Everyday slang that wouldn't be found in textbooks.

Verlan is the bane of my existence when I watch movies in French. I can get it just fine when it's written, but understanding it spoken is a bitch and a half.
