Why are we not being allowed to discuss a public matter?
It's not like it's any big secret he bedded an underage girl.

Just the man trying to keep us down yet again.

Ridiculous the thread was deleted. I was having fun exposing some people's ignorance on the matter. Calling him a pedophile is below the belt, simple as.

There is discussing it and then there is discussing how young the girl has to be for the man to be a pheodphile. If you want to discuss that feel free to start a thread in Politics and Current Events.

Michael Powell has taken over SNIW.

Sorry Toon, but it is public knowledge and a topic of much discussion (including in the press) up here. There is no reason at all for either editing or removing the initial thread. The discussion and education of others should be allowed to continue, as it is revevant to SNIW.

Fair enough, but can it not be split and moved? All my well-researched ad hominem is gone.

There is nothing to discuss. He was tried and sentanced. He has done his time for the crime he commited.
It is not censorship, it was the wrong place to start a discussion like that. You seem to forget that it's not only you that use this forum, child of the age being discussed could be reading this! It is my job to keep the forum in a state that it everyone can enjoy it.
If you don't like it. Tough.

Then why is it mentioned in every article regarding his appointment and why did he discuss the issue at the press conference? It is relevant, it is important and it merits discussion.

What if we use really big words? Besides, maybe it is appropriate that some young children know whom to look out for.

Then you're failing in that task, because I don't "enjoy" having all the posts just disappear. You said yourself it could be discussed in Politcs and Current Affairs; why was it not moved there?

Because of the same reason The Sun has breasts on page 3. It sells papers.
It is not relevant, the matter has been settled in a court of law.
How is it important Teso? Does it factor in his management skills?
Fans are welcome to voice their opinions on the matter, they can say they are unhappy that a convicted sex offender is now a manager but there is no reason for the discussion to go any futher than that.

Because the language and posts were not appropriate for any area of this site.

I could pull up dozens of threads with worse language (i.e. more *********) than that.
If the posts are appropriate for a footballing press conference then surely they're appropriate for a footballing discussion board as well.

It factors in the image of the club, as you admit yourself. Perhaps some players who have young children might feel uncomfortable around him as he fits the stereotype of a "dirty old man", hardly the thing a head coach needs if he wants to command respect. Opposition fans will be singing the paedo ditty from kickoff until full time, which might affect his concentration.
There are numerous reasons why it's still worth discussing.
How are those Nikes fitting?

It factors into whether he is a suitable candidate for the job. The press are discussing it, the Hearts fans are discussing it and Rix is discussing it, so why are we not allowed to? What implications does this move have for the youth teams, what does it do for PR, what do the fans think... etc, etc.

Rix saw fit to talk about it at an earlier press conference.
