I just recieved this private message.
Hi
My name is Alexei Matveev and I am working for the major Russian sport daily "Sport-Express". Among my special interests are football history and statistics. Now I am working on selecting all-time national teams of different countries. That is why I need your help. May I ask you to send me your variant of all-time Ecuador team (the best players in history of your country)?
While selecting the players please take in account mostly their class, gained titles and their contribution to the history of football. All-time team sould consist of 33 players (3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 10 midfielders and 12 forwards). The players of each position should be put in order of their class, with the best one in the first place.
For example:
Germany
goalkeepers
1. Sepp Meier
2.Harald Schumacher
3. Oliver Kahn
defenders
1.Franz Beckenbauer
2. Paul Breitner
3. Andreas Brehme...
(and so on).
Please, sent your variant of all-time national team by e-mail -
matveev@sport-express.ru
With best regards
Alexei Matveev
So, I would like everyone here to help me decide on the list. Personally, I take it is an honor that someone would ask this type of question and I would like to help him out, pronto! so, please help me with a list. I only follwed Ecuador futbol since 1999, but obviously, I know guys like Alberto Spencer.
Thanks in advance guys!

guess I 'll start with the goal keepers.
1. Pablo Ansado - honestly, I just seen his name thrown around, but please, someone inform me more about him.
2. Carlos Moreno - Same story, but I do know he was the goal keeper who brought Barcelona to the Copa Libertadores finals in 1990?
3. Jose Franscisco Cevallos - I know about him more then the other 2. He played almost his entire career with Barcelona SC, and was the goalkeeper for Ecuador's first WC and also captained Barcelona to the Copa Libertadores finals in 1998.

For keepers I would leave out Moreno, and put in Morales. Center backs would be Holguer Quinones,Ivan Hurtado, ******** I can't think of another back at this time.

Lecaro, I believe played in Barcelona. In the NT 1959-1969 with 18 caps. A strong solid player, kind of Jorge Guagua type. Quinones played with many international teams, including Vasco Da Gama. 50 caps with the NT. Was named the best S.American player in his position one time. I don't think this is 100% accurate, maybea 95%.
