Anyone know if the draw will be televised here? FIFA has it on December 9th but do not list a time - can't find anything on FSC or ESPN sites either.

Well if not it will be on Spanish language TV... Don't even need to speak Spanish to read the results..
I hope someone like FSC covers it, however..

If it's anywhere in english it will be on ESPNews but I'm sure Univision and/or Telemundo will cover it.

I'm sure you can get English language audio online. A good place to try is the BBC.

English-language coverage is expected on ESPNEWS (ESPN2 is not available due to college soccer.)
Spanish-language coverage will air on one of the Univision networks. I understand that Univision Sports may be given time on the flagship network Univision.

Well that's ironic...
Dumb me never even thought about Spanish TV - thanks. You do need to know some Spanish though to know who Allemania, Ingleterra, etc are.

IIRC the draw is done in english so the people reading off the names at the draw will be speaking in english which will then be translated by the spanish TV guys. It's been 4 years so I might be wrong.
It was on ESPN in 01, so I can't imagine it not being again.....

It was tape-delayed then.
Really? I was at a bar during lunch for that - but yes, it was in Japan....my bad

I had to go back and read a column I wrote about it. I remember being up at some insane hour, watching it on some matchTracker-type thing, posting here and IMing people as I downed coffee like there was no tomorrow.
Kind of like spring training for the World Cup the next year. :p
If The Hot List has to show every NCAA Selection Show as part of the NCAA contract, I hope FIFA was smart enough to make ESPNNews show the draw live. That would be the perfect show for that.

TV Azteca is showing Spain-Slovakia, and I had no idea it was on, damn! I was too busy watching France-Germany tippy toeing around, avoiding injury, on Telemundo.

You must live on the border.
Azteca 13 of Mexico has Spain-Slovakia.
Azteca AMERICA does NOT.

Imagine this:
Sepp Blatter: "Franz, pass me the next lottery ball to see who else will be in group B..."
Mr. Franz (in thich German accent): "Here you go".
Sepp Blatter: "Thank you. OK, let's take a look at the board. So far in Group B, we have Argentina, England, and USA... so let's see who will be the last to join them in Group B. And... (opening the lottery ball)... and... and it's Iran".
Mr. Franz (in thick German accent): "Well..uh.. uh.. hey at least this time we Germans won't be blamed for starting World War III."

Okay, I'm starting to get worried. I heard that the draw won't be on ESPN2 because of college football, and that it may be on ESPNEWS, but may not be aired live.
I've gone to the ESPN Media Guide calendar and it is blank on 12/9.
Does anyone have a definitive answer as to when and where the draw will take place on US TV?

You give them too much credit. I wouldn't be surprised if they interupt the draw for late breaking news from the national tiddley-wink championship.
