is there anyway to find out the status of an e-mail,i.e delivered or not delivered after you send it with outlook express like you can with a text message from your phone for example.
im looking for work a.t.m. and i'd like to know if my c.v.'s are getting through or not.
basicly my c.v itself is a word document but my referances are in .jpeg format due to being scanned from the original letters, and i know some places have blocks on messages with attachments,so if i knew they were'nt being delivered i could just post them off the old fasioned way.
thanks in advance.

With Outlook you can set an option while composing an email to notify you when it's been read. I don't use Outlook Express but try opening a new email and clicking on options. (I believe the reader is notified that you set this preference - sort of like the BigSoccer PM pop-up.)

yeah i spotted that mate, but like you said it's up to the reader to decide to notify you or not.
is there no way to tell if it's been delivered from the mail server as such?

I doubt it - although I still think you will get a notification that it was deleted without being read? Might be worth experimenting with by sending yourself emails and see what the notifications do.

It's not the most techie answer, but I'd call them. At least it shows you're keen.
Most companies don't filter jpegs but if you are concerned you could save them in .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format, they will definitely get through. Use http://www.pdf995.com to create them in pdf format, or your scanning software may even do this.

will give that program a try mate thanks.
a lot of big companys over here do filter their mail though, two of my best friends(who work for differant companys) if i want to send them a funny pic at their work address,i have to upload it to photobucket and send them on the hyperlink, which is a dose to say the least.
