For a while my ipod had been slow and freezing at times. You could also hear internal parts still working even after I had turned it off. Yesterday the battery ran out and started recharging it. After it was finished, I picked it up and all the songs were gone. It appeared to have reset itself. I then plug it into the computer and it freezes the computer. I then attempted a reset on the ipod which didn't do anything and now my ipod just shows the apple. You can still hear internal parts still working. It also shows at times the folder with the exclamation mark. I tried to do a restore but it responds for like 5 seconds when I plug it into the computer. My ipod is the one with the click wheel (20gb) . If anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

unfortunately for you, you're finding out why apple's been known for design and not reliability :(

If you haven't fixed your iPod yet, I think the best thing is to take it to the Apple Store and let them take a look at it.
