Which country has the best fans? I go for Scottish fans they are always passionate, dedicated and will continue singing and supporting their country even if they are getting beaten 3-0 or more!

I would say English fans. No matter what they stand by their country.

What about their hooligan problems?

What about their hooligan problems?

It doesn't surprise me.

So how can they therefore be classed as the best fans?

England.

They might not have the most behaved or sophisticated fans in the world, but they have the best league and are the most knowledgeable.

Hooliganism to me is just blue-collar passion.

This basically summarizes the previous post by Teso.

The South Korea fans during WC'02 were quite memorable. It was inspiring how they kept cheering on their guys to attack Portugal even though iirc sitting back guaranteed both teams would go through to the next round. It was a refreshing reaction to the cynicism that is all too prevalent in the sport.

Most definitely the Irish. The English and the Scottish while equally passionate both have a bit of a nasty streak that is totally alien to the Irish.

I'm guessing 70% of English people I know who support a EPL team such as Newcastle like I do, do not give a monkeys arse about thier national team although they are passionate about thier club.

Scottish fans are different to that, get behind thier country no matter what.

I wonder if the person who gets beaten up will consider hooliganism as blue-collar passion!

I would say Brasil 1st, so many people travel to the world cup, and they are also extremely vibrant. They dance, wave thier flags, tons of people bring ni drums!

Portugal would be second in my book. The nation literally stops for Internation play. People won't go to work, or simply leave work at lunch....plus we like to bring in the drums as well

Then I would proboly go with either Italia, and England....I think Italians are just devestated when they get eliminated but take it fairly well. England have alot of supporters as well, but those cause problems in thier own community after they lose...so they lose points :p

This (failed) qualification campaign, Ireland took 35,000 fans to Paris, and 15,000 to Nicosia.
