Don't worry... I heard from insider sources that Nike has dropped this design and are currently working on a new one.
They even destroyed all the material that they ordered for the sampleproduction of this shoe  They seriously screwed up this time... Can't wait to see the new one!

How much faith can we put in this source? No offense but you being new around here is going to make people question your post on top of the fact that about 2-3 years of design work goes in to a shoe be fore its launched.
I doubt nike would scrap an entire design they have been settled on for at least a year. I know they make multiple prototypes of boot desing and I guess could recall a previously dumped design but I doubt it very much.

At the same time though, i would imagine that at least five designs are presented and made b4 the company decides on which boot will actually be released, so maybe they have changed their minds?? IDK though, i hope they change it b/c these are ugly, i hate the tongue, its not AZT style at all...

It seems like all the new cleats that are coming out are really ugly.

That is waht I was talking about with the scrapped prototypes. As for the tounge the First AZT's had one and many pro's had SMU's done with tounges because the lack of support you get from not having a tounge so it looks like nike just gave us the version many pros have been getting

I'm not too sure about the total 90's in these pictures. It seems as if the only thing that changed was the design and the colors on the outside. Even the studs seem similar to the III's. I hope nike improves the total 90 IV with new technology that will make it a more comfortable boot, which is what the total 90 is supposed to be.

I understand your skepticism... Actually it usually takes around 1,5 years from design to launch. But it can be done faster especially when there's no new technology involved which needs a lot of testing. Ask the designguy from Hummel!
The point-of-no-return are salesmen samples because that's when nike actually has to sell a finalised product to retailers.
We'll see who is right next year... :D

I actually liked the design. Something different after all is not a bad thing.

If they are just throwing a new upper design on the same outsole and midsole then I guess you could be right but I though that this AZT was going to be a total overhaul from what is out now.
I have seen minor adjustments to sample shoes though, the Diadora Totti is one. They added a tounge and removed the sockliner from it sine Totti took over the shoe that was suppose to be Pippo's
The catalog at my store has the redesign date listed as 6-1-06 for the AZT 4 so I guess its going to be sooner than that whe we see the shoe on the feet of players.
