My Revs lost to the Gals and I'm coming down from my drunken depressed state and can't believe their season is over without a piece of silverware. :(
The international break can't end soon enough so the Arse can (hopefully) cheer me up.
sigh...

Yes, unfortunately, Landycakes and his boys triumphed. I was rooting for the Revs.....but not a very entertaining match for neutrals, IMO.

Landycakes is a national embarrassment. More specifically, the way he is the face of US Soccer is an embarrassment. DeMarcus Beasley, Kasey Keller, and Claudio Reyna are all superior talents, playing in superior leagues.

The Revs, for whatever reason, looked tight and nervous and just didn't show up to play. Twellman flat out vanished during the overtime. For a neutral observer it was a fairly painful match to watch (exciting enough, just not well played) and it just kills me to see Steve Sampson win a championship.

Well, we had two problems...Ralston was injured and couldn't cross the ball to TT and Leonard has been hurt for two weeks making us play a young Riley at left.
And the Gals had a good defensive game plan that cut down on our one-touch game and they anticipated what few runs we tried to make. It also seemed that we were so worried about the Gals counter-attack we kept the foot off the gas for much of the game.
I don't have the beef other people do with Donovan but to see Steve Sampson's corpulant face after the game with a smile on it was nauseating.

Exactly, he's the face of US soccer because he's the only top player who's playing in the MLS. I never understand the criticism of him. I don't blame him for wanting to live in the USA and be a star, it seems a much better choice than riding the pine in Germany. Give me the choice of living in California or Germany, and i'm picking CA every time. Would you rather be the USA's top player, or an anonymous bench player in Dortmund or wherever he was? He made a big mistake signing his life away to a German team when he was a kid, and he's still paying the price.

I particularly thought that Ralston sucked today; I did not realize that he was injured so I do feel more sympathetic about his performance knowing so.

They're also unlikely to have as cool a set of warm up acts like the Airplane and the Flying Burrito Bros. Security, no doubt, is better.
What's so bad about the Hell's Angels? I saw the stones 6? years ago... the opening act was Third Eye Blind. Sad sad sad.

Let's just say it's probably the last time a band has outsourced their security. :D

Personally, I have NO problem whatsoever if Landon wants to be the big fish in a small pond and prefers Cali and his C-level actress girlfriend to cold Leverkusen winters.
What I DO have a problem with is what comes out of his mouth on the subject. He constantly makes statements like "I've achieved just as much as anyone else blah blah blah." He chalked up his problems in Germany to blaming the manager or management in general. Now that's fine if he had played for over a year.....but a few months? WTF, sack up and work harder. If it still doesn't work out then leave at the end of the season, but don't whine about how you didn't get a fair shot, etc., etc. Then he makes other statements like..."the quality of the Bundesliga isn't much different than MLS..." BS, Landon.
Ninety percent of what comes out of his mouth sounds like whiney excuses instead of just saying..."didn't work out, I like California better." If he just did the latter, I would have a lot more respect for him. As it is.....IMO, he comes off like a pouty little brat that took his ball and went home when things didn't go exactly how he wanted.
