Also with the currect FIFA rules can you get in with a scapper ticket
This strikes me as wrong, but then again, I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to say...

Yeah FIFA is making it so you have to have your passport to match your ticket with your name and stuff on it. I dont know how many tickets they wil actually check while entering the stadium though. They are trying to cut down on scalping.

In the past were tickets for sale outside the stadium like with college sports in US

I would assume US matches will have much less demand than Euro matches..........so Italy will be impossible but maybe Czech and Ghana would be available ?????
BTW I have semi tickets thru allocation.... :D
Maybe the Ghana demand would be less , but Czech is European , and I think there is a big demand to see the # 2 team in the world ( according to the FIFA rankings ) vs an up and coming USA side.I expect a lot of Italians for the US-Italy match.

Ok, here's my question. I hadn't registered for USSoccer.com in time for the pre-sale, not that it mattered, because I needed time to apply for a mastercard and a passport anyway. I now have my mastercard (which i need if i order from fifa) and a passport, and I'm ready to go.
Do I:
A) Order after the pre-sale with USSoccer.com
or
B) take my chances in the fifa lottery.
If USSoccer.com still has a decent amount of tickets left after the pre-sale, I'll just order from them, no problem, but if there are, or are almost sold out, I'm better off taking my chances through FIFA's lottery.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or have any idea how many tickets USSoccer has left? I tried e-mailing and calling them, with no luck getting a response.
Thanks!

Do both - if there aren't any tickets left from USSF on the 6th of January, just enter the FIFA lottery.

I can't. Because if there are US tickets available, and then i GET the FIFA draw, its a double order thingie, and both orders get cancelled. I was just wondering if anyone knew how many tickets they're expecting US SOCCER to have left.

You have 9 days after the USSF draw and before the FIFA draw ends. That's what he was talking about.
Apply through USSF... then wait as late as possible and apply through FIFA.
FIFA's draw is not first-come, first-served. It is a random lottery.

Right. Understood. But as it seems to be the pattern with USSF, you will get confirmation within a 9 days time, but you will not be told wether or not you are getting tickets. So I doubt within 9 days I'll know.

I received email confirmation the next day. Everybody that has applied has received confirmation, it is this week I believe that we find out whether we got tickets, because the USSF window ends.

I just called US Soccer and spoke to Amy. She said that we would not be notified until mid to late January. She said they have not decided if they are going to open up sales to the public.
So this means we would miss the FIFA lottery?

Huh? Does this mean there are tickets remaining so that everyone who submitted an application will get tickets or, umm, what does this mean???

Well if they dont tell us before the end of the FIFA date then yes we would miss the lottery. It means that they have already sold or have enough potential sold tickets that there is no need to open it up to the public.

I asked Amy if there would be any tickets open to the public as I assumed this would mean that everyone who placed an order would be getting tickets. She said they have not decided to offer tickets to the public. Not an answer one way or the other...

Just to clarify---even people who got their orders in in the first two days won't be notified until mid- to late January? Eh?

And since they're not opening it up to the public, that means not all the applications got filled (unless the number of tickets available was exactly the same as the number requested in the pre-sale). Which means that unless this thread is wrong and we do indeed find out by Jan. 14, anyone who submitted applications to USSF but doesn't get tickets will get screwed out of applying thru FIFA as well.
COMPLETELY. ********ING. INEXCUSABLE.

The staff is doing the best they can.... they are just overwhelmed. Let's hope it doesn't take them that long.
