They have to set some arbitrary limit. Four is a good even number. Perhaps you could have divided your order into two with your brother and nephew on one and you and your kids in the other. Hindsight I guess.
shooot.......... that's right!! Now, how can I get his tickets? He can't be a buyer he's not 18????

Yes. Mine was sent by FedEx and when I checked my email this morning I had a confirmation email timed last night after 8 p.m. central.
Was it a same-day fedex? When did your fedex package arrive?
Has anyone who fedexed for the following day (the 13th) received a confirmation email? What time did the fedex package arrive?

My package arrived at 7:09 AM CST on TUESDAY 13th. Was the confirmation from FED EX or USSF? I received my FEDEX confirmation but nothing from USSF yet.

1) I got a fax through Monday at 6pm CT and the US Soccer confirmation email Wednesday afternoon said I was #2050, which has got to be on the fence if 8% of stadium capacity (40K to 60K) is 3200-4800 people and people order 2-4 tickets.
Anyone else have a received time/confirmation number they're willing to share?
2) On another topic, in France '98, it was easy and cheap to stay an hour outside the host cities and take the trains in using a Eurail pass or daily fares. Depends if you want to be pounding the pavement in urban areas all the time or sightsee and take in the local food & scenery, which is many steps up from McBurgers and urban congestion. For airfare, check flights into France, Luxemburg & Holland also - it may be half the price of flying into Frankfurt, and just a $50 train ride (or free with a Eurail pass).

I think its foolish to go by the numbers to determine whether you got tickets. Although they generally fall into a pattern, the numbers mean absolutely nothing. I think different employees checking in applications get different ranges of numbers, and within those ranges the numbers are generally random.
I agree about not flying into Germany. My situation was a bit different, in that I am using air miles on American to get there with my dad. I spent 120,000 miles on two tickets to France. WIth fees, each ticket will cost us $55.

Dear ILIANA XXXXX,
U.S. Soccer has received your 2006 FIFA World Cup Ticket Order Form.
Your receipt confirmation number is 10XX0.
This receipt confirmation number should be included in all future
correspondence to U.S. Soccer regarding your 2006 FIFA World Cup
Ticket order.
Please note, this receipt confirmation message signifies only that
your order form has been received.
The order form is still in process - tickets have not been allocated
to you at this time and your credit or debit card has not been
charged.
You will receive further correspondence from U.S. Soccer to notify
you of your order status (i.e. fulfilled or placed on the U.S. Soccer
Waiting List) at a later date.
Screwed?

You should send them an email or call - put in your password from the original WC 2006 ticket email and the tracking info for your package. According to USSF, you should have heard from them within 48 hours, which I think has happened for the majority of posters here. I actually got mine in less than 48 hours (fax at 7:57 PM Monday, email around noon on Wednesday)
Good luck.

For what is is worth I asked the following and got the response today:
1. What does the "Confirmation number" signify? Is there any relationship between this number and the order of ticket allocation? or are you using something else to determine "first come, first served"?
Your receipt confirmation number simply provides a quick reference for U.S. Soccer to access your order and is not an indication of the number of orders received nor of an order's priority.
2. Apparently some folks faxed their application to the "non-official" fax number displayed in the order form. Will these be accepted?
Any ticket order forms sent to fax numbers within U.S. Soccer that were not provided with the ussoccerfan.com instructions will not be considered valid order forms and will not be processed for 2006 FIFA World Cup tickets.

As someone who used FedEx, I find this part heartening.

Do we have any idea of how many people did this?

Probably not too many. There's a thread with a poll about how people submitted their apps, and only 2 people I think used alternate fax numbers only.

Thats just freakin great, way to ruin my christmas holiday. After attempting to fax to the main number for over a few hours I called the main number and asked what was wrong and they said that they were aware of the situation, and that I could use that alternative number. Do you think I can refax to the correct number, although I have received a confirm number?

I wouldn't worry. I have been in correspondance with US Soccer about my application, which was faxed to an alternate number, and they have said that everything was okay. Think about it logically. Why would you have gotten a comfirmation in the first place, if they were going to turn around and put your app in the circular file.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but does anyone have any idea when they're going to start notifying people? Like, does anyone have processed tickets yet? Or are we all just at the confirmation stage?

I think that we are all the confirmation stage. However, I can be wrong. I think rumor has it that we should know on January 4th. However, your guess is as good as mine so we shall see.

So my father and brother and I just decided we could clear off time (and money) to go to the WC to see a couple games. Yeah, I know, a late start on this.
Anyone have any sense on what our chances would be through USSF at this stage or how long until we'd find out, so we'd still be able to go elsewhere to get tixs (ie, soccertravel.com, etc)?

Well with USSF you might be a little late because we're all supposed to find out on like Wednesday. Maybe if all the tickets didnt sell you could still get them through USSF, but I doubt it. Soccertravel is good , but just pretty expensive , and if you're willing to spend the extra money then go for it.

In the past were tickets for sale outside the stadium like with college sports in US
Also with the currect FIFA rules can you get in with a scapper ticket
I would assume US matches will have much less demand than Euro matches..........so Italy will be impossible but maybe Czech and Ghana would be available ?????
BTW I have semi tickets thru allocation.... :D
