Wigan are fielding a very young team. They should be fodder for us as we are back to full strength. Kick off is in 35minutes.

I hope we score early so we can bring Rossi off and possibly have him as a sub against Chelsea for when we're 3 nil up in that match.

Miller has been removed from the squad
A late change apparently...

Btw, today is the weather Manchester is famed for... rain, rain and more rain.

I was wondering about that, with the news of the loan deal.

Probably didn't want to risk scuppering the loan to Leeds with an injury....

My guess is that if he's on his way out, Fergie doesn't see the point in him playing a game ahead of another player who could benefit from a playing opportunity.
That said, isn't David Fox already 22?

Kick off
And we're already in control.
A short corner to Blake who took a shot from just outside the penalty area. Narrowly wide.
I would expect us to win this 4 or 5 nil. Wigan are fielding a team full of 17yr olds.

5minutes in and I don't recall a Wigan player actually having touched the ball yet..
It's like an exhibition game right now.

Any senior players in the crowd? Maybe taking notes?

Wigan win a throw in!! :)
They finally have a few touches, back with United already however.
For once we are playing a team who are no physically bigger than us  I think that's the first time I've seen that for 2yrs.

For the fear of getting lynched...I think not!

For all our possession we haven't had a shot on goal yet from a passing build up. Wigan are running around like crazy trying to get the ball back. At this rate they will be dead on their feet by 60

Rossi with a sublime chipped thru ball to Blake who breaks thru on goal and blasts a right footed shot narrowly wide.

Just wanna say that it's WAY too ironic if we beat them in the reserves and lose to them (at least in the tables) for our first XI..
How are you guys watching this, anyway?

Funnily enough Wigan play exactly like their first team. Very aggressive and forceful and none stop running. Our boys seem a little..wary of getting clattered on the late play. Wigan players are not dirty...but it looks to me like they are impartial to getting ball and man if the man..so happens to be in the way.
It's wise for our lads to jump our of the way of some Wigan's aggression.
What is smart for them is that their style is kind of stopping us playing. Our lads are trying not to get injured. No way Wigan can maintain this level of pressing for very long.

This game has definitely taken on the mirror image of an EPL top vrs bottom type clash now.

Rossi brilliant thru ball.. late call on Martin's run. Would have been a goal.
