they can always go back to algeria or whatever 3rd world hell hole they are from. if you don't like europeans then don't live in europe.

Hmmmmm.

Please explain.

Europeans? Or Parisian autocrats?

you all will never take notice of the fact that these people from the 3rd world always move to civilized countries like france and never vice versa. if france or germany or the uk or america, etc. were NOT absolutely superior to the rest of the world, people would not move there. i really think we would be better off if we operated like japan. that is , very tightly control immigration.

lol.

Well of course. That is how they say as 'stating the bleedin' obvious'

Of course people in poorer countries will move abroad for a better life. Japan has never had a massive need for a work-force in its country, so therefore it has to screen its immigrant policy very tightly. It has done for the past 50 years.

Yeah!! Screw those silly lil' laws of civilized society that dictate social behavior. Citizens have the right to ignore constitutional laws and international laws!!

you obviously have not been there recently... it's part of the booming real-estate in nyc since theres no more freaking room on manhattan except ABC and washington heights...

concerning tighter immigration laws, there are pros and cons... the pro might be that japan does not have to deal with integration of any kind, which makes life a little easier... but i think the con is better if it is worked out right - 1) a mix of cultures, which we do see in france, but not entirely they way it should be... just like in nyc, in paris, you'll see everything from every culture... but wat were seeing in france is the immigrants are feeling exactly the way blacks were in the states back 20 years ago or during the LA riots (they feel they have no hope)... it's the gov't role to give incentives for the private sector to bring jobs there... only with that and better education/security conditions will things get better... we are also dealing with 15-20 year olds that are sometimes not pleasant (groups of racailles are not fun to meet when you're on the metro for example... not all are bad, but sometimes you get groups where you really wonder what goes on through their heads? are they human!?!?) ... and 2 - in france, it's important because it helps in someway counter the drop in population... in japan for example, the population by 2050 will be somewhere around 100 million if not below, and it stands now at 120 mil!!!! thats a huge drop!!! in france though, without immigration, women on avg have 1.9 babies (the most behind ireland in europe)... but you still need 2.1 babies to have an increasing population... so due to both immigration and higher birth rate in france, france's population should stand somewhere between 70-75 million by 2050 (compared to 62 million now) ... if that were to happen, we'd surpass germany since its population (along w/ spain's and italy's) are DRASTICALLY DROPPING and its a huge problem over there... only turkey would have a bigger population in europe (they'll be over 100 million in 2050 compared to about 70 something i think now) ... so i agree with sarkozy/villepin on MUCH MUCH tigher immigration laws to control the numbers, because immigration is not the problem, illegal immigration is (i think i've heard 100,000 illegal immigrants come every year... thats HUGE for france!)

i personally think immigration is a necessity, just like it was in the US... but things must be done correctly and the gov't can't just forget they exist... wat we saw was the tipping point and i think for the years to come (its a long-term problem), with the economy in france recovering slowly and unemployment dropping for the 7th consecutive month, we will see things SLOWLY recover... at least i'm hoping they do...

'Course, all the countries, save Japan, that you mentioned all have a system like ours that is dependent on cheap labor. Remember how our country used to have slaves? Well, after slaves, the cheap labor was Chinese. After Chinese, a whole slew of Asians from a variety of countries. After Asians, Mexicans.

Combine this w/ the fact that WeEurope has such a miniscule birth rate that it jeopardizes the social and economic infrastructure. Ergo, the need to for cheap labor to sustain their economy.

It's patently obvious that you have no comprehension of this, so it's not that we're "forgetting to mention" anything. It's just htat you are waaaay, way behind the curve.

Guys tone it down, keep the racism out and the insults. Discussion is fine, but if you can't discuss in a civil manner than we shut this thread down.

Is not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
And not very sensible either
A friend of a friend he got beaten
He looked the wrong way at a policeman
Would never have happened to Smeaton
And old Leodiensian
La-ah-ah, la la lalala la
Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la

Well its in leeds but you get the point. ;) :D

Isn't this whole thing moot anyways? After all, DeVillepin has stated that these weren't riots, but social disturbances anways.... :)
