It wasn't so long ago, we ruled the world
Now we're a clam without it's pearl
With Scholes to string em up, and Keane to scare em silly
We made any team not MUFC look sh!tty
Now we're being outrun by City
Outbid by Chelsinski
We barely have any dignity

It seems like we're in some hard times now
Will yesterday's fan be here tommorow?
Will we wallow in our own sorrow?
Focus on how wrong things can go?
Hell no!
At least our secretary didn't have to sleep with an oil tycoon
Or even better, at least we're not Liverpool.

I've criticized the team and complained for long enough. We're in a rough patch and might be in it for a while, but we wont be in it forever. We must ride the storm, after all, some of the greatest success comes right after the worst of failures. Lets at least be thankfull that we can watch them play, and look forward to the new generation of united players who will drag us back to where we belong.

Could have been better if you included a song that can serve as some kind of inspiration.

That's right, I still expect a top two finish this season and some silverware.

Every team goes through cycles.

We're in a down cycle right now.

It happens.

We'll be back

Liverpool had a really long down cycle since the 80s..

We can't rely on natural "cycles". That's bull. Let's just hope the Manchester United staff and personnel are working hard AND toward the right direction to end our misery.

To be honest, our dominance really ended in 2001. It's about time we get our act together, before we devolve into a UEFA cup team.

I'll still maintain that the 2002-03 team was a great one too. For all the talk of Arsenal choking, that United team had the second-most points of any United team since the reduction to 20 Premiership teams, and was almost certainly one of the top 4 teams in Europe (we manhandled Juventus in Turin, who beat the last great Madrid team before it all started to go wrong for the Gaylacticos).

Damn right. I had only started following United for a year, and I was VERY suprised that Manchester United dispatched Juventus. It was like we swapped them away like a fly (okay, exaggerated, but.. ;))..

I wore my kit proudly all day today, despite the loss. United through and through, and I'll never be ashamed of that

Yeah, I guess the 2002-03 season will always be one to remember. Arsenal did goof up, but we showed some good resilience to end up with the title.

I mentioned 2001 mainly because I feel that's when our midfield was tweaked, and it foreshadowed our future problems.

I'm not. My old one got destroyed in the wash, but I'm not getting a new with Glazer in charge just yet, anyway.
