All this talk about Rimando this and Gomez that is all a bunch of bull. There was bad mojo against this team and we all know it. No way the Fire beat us on an even match.
I claim partial responsibility. I had a pretty solid Playoff Beard going but when I came home I gave in to my mom's nagging and ended up shaving it.

To me that is the most ridiculous claim. The 2005 DC United got absolutely nothing on the great DC United teams of the late 90's.

It was the lingering effects of the black cat that ran onto the field a couple of months ago. If you remember it as clearly as I do, the cat took a very similar trajectory to the corner kick that Nick Rimando flubbed early yesterday.

I voted for other because I think it's the black cat.
Which was actually grey, but if you turn the brightness on your monitor down, it looks black.

Gomez decided he'd rather take up music after the NY game. Really showed down the stretch.
Before last night's game he'd already decided he was going to quit futbol for good and star in a Buenos Aires Grateful Dead tribute band.
Spent last night trying to figure out how to put the words to "Vamos United" into the tune for Aiko Aiko.
