If you were Kevin Payne for a day what would you do?
Me?
I would lock Peter Nowak and Freddy Adu together in a room and not let them out until they were prepared to sing Kumbaya in chorus in front of the whole team.

If I was Kevin Payne I would probably know what is going on with the team for real, and not just spend countless hours speculating and presenting my opinions as facts on an internet message board but that just what I would do.

I'd switch to Lights.
Then I'd really want to know if Piotr ever has moments of doubt. Not in front of the team, mind you. Piotr comes off as a "my way, right or wrong" kind of guy, which can be pretty damn useful. But as his employer, I'd be curious to see if, just for a moment, Piotr admits that he's still learning and capable of making mistakes. If he is, than I have no problem with the taskmaster attitude, so long as Piotr himself doesn't buy into it.
God that reads like a muddle, but I think you understand what I'm trying to get at.

Line up the team on the goal line, tied to the goal posts, and take shots at them.
Call Abramovich fake-drunkenly and yell that next year we'll take 'em.
Smoke a big cigar, drink some champagne and then go take more shots at the team, who are still tied up. :D

I'd look for in the following order:
1) A goalkeeper over 6'.
2) A target forward over 6'.
3) Defensive Depth (especially Left Back)

Package Prideaux, Adu and Rimando to LA for Todd Dunivant, Herculez Gomez and and allocation (if LA didn't have one I make them get one). I would turn the allocation into a starting keeper.

I'd:
1) Make Nowak have a frank discussion with me about what went wrong at the end of the season and what we need to change for next season, including his performance.
2) Begin the search for a new striker and better wingers.
3) Give that Skip Van Meter fella my life savings.

Don't you mean until Freddy comes out beaten and bloodied vowing to never say anything to anyone ever again :) Somehow Nowak singing Kumbaya with that accent doesn't seem to likely to happen.
Proclaim that certain members of the team need to report immediately to my bedroom to do their "penance". ;)

I would pass a new team policy that any player under the age of 18 can no longer talk to the press. If you can't vote or register for the draft, you can't talk to the press. ;)
