Western Conference Finals in our house! Boo-ya!
Win or lose, this will be our final tailgate at Invesco this year, so let's party like it's... I was going to say "like it's 1999," but that year we were "swept out of the postseason by the Los Angeles Galaxy without scoring a goal"---so forget I said anything.
Where: Lot C, by the grassy knoll. Look for the Rapids tent.
When: around 5 p.m.
Now that we're on standard time again, it's probably going to be quite chilly at 5 p.m., so we will need some hot food and hot beverages. As for the food, a fellow C-Firm member and I were thinking of the following menu, which does not rely on grills, since neither of us has one:
L.A.sagna
Scott Garlick (RIP) bread
Kevin Hartman's have you ever seen a salad before Salad
We figure a few (three?) people can volunteer to get a Costco-size lasagna each, bake them at home, and bring them hot from the oven to the tailgate. Ditto for the garlic bread. And then a big bag o' prewashed salad and some sort of dressing. For dessert can someone invent a Landycake?
For hot beverages, I will bring a big insulated thingie full of hot chocolate and maybe a couple of thermoses of coffee. And I will bring cups suitable for hot beverages. You can bring your own spike if desired. Of course, another popular way to make a beverage hot is to light it on fire, but, please, not if you're drinking out of styrofoam...
We will also need plates, plasticware, napkins, and some soft drinks.
The pinata was fun, but there was too much candy in it and the sugar made many of us jittery. Maybe this time we should have a parlor game instead, like Pin the Dreds on the Cobi. Other suggestions?
And lastly, have no fear: I will bring the warpaint.
So, please come to the tailgate, ESPECIALLY if you haven't come to one before. If you feel so inclined, kindly volunteer to bring something listed in boldface type above and respond below with what you'll be bringing. I hate to be all super-anal-organized girl, but I fear another All Sugar & Potato Chips tailgate!

We did make the Open Cup final in 1999. Maybe party like it's 1997?

Pizzas! I'll bring some! Any requests?
I am brining a "4 minutes of sausage time" pie.
Plus, Sister Badgerjohn is converted to a soccer fan. She dropped a testimonial about the watch party on a different DB.

The tailgate will also host the unveiling of the Centennial Firm Logo so make sure you come by so we can get all the critisism out of the way ;) . The Rapids tent and table should be made available to us unless some unforseen disaster takes them away. Food is always a good idea so bring what you can, I loved the all sugar/potato chip buffet but alas, they do not go well with beer.
Also. discounted seats are available thru the Centennial Firm. The Rapids are willing to help out their fans in the touchline seats. If you dont want to wait in the lines at Will-Call or the sales window, email iLLBeAtsFC@yahoo.com for aid :D .

Hey Brown,
Do you mind me posting a few fliers around the DU campus regarding your discounted tickets? might be a good way to get a few extra people to the game. If this sounds like a good idea let me know how much you want for each ticket.

Since you are a Quaker, let me know what kind of non-potent potables and I will make sure I get at least one 6-pack of that and some mix for everyone else. :)

Thanks, folks. Everyone has stepped up tremendously!
We have sufficient food & drink. Sounds like 6 pizzas for so from Brother Badgerjohn & GoRapids, three L.A.sagnas from Susan (C-Firm member who doesn't post on BS), and some soft drinks from askum. BPBlueSox, if you still want to help, how about you bring some plates and forks?
And while it's just a tailgate and nobody there will be a licensed food vendor, and while we are expressly not allowed to put out a jar for donations, I might suggest that in addition to everyone else, Bro. B, GoRapids, and Susan should definitely wear nametags at the tailgate in case people want to surreptitiously reimburse them a couple of bucks for so generously volunteering to bring so much food.

Good call Chili, I just got a email from the Rapids about shutting us down for such actions.
All C-Firm members will have the honor of taking the Oath of the River which states your allegiance to the Rapids and C-Firm! There will be no ritual blood letting nor human sacrifice as the Yellow Jackets probably frown on such actions, but, Galaxy are traveling here at their own risk!

So let me get this straight. Is it illegal for a group of friends to get together in the Invesco parking lot and all contribute money for tailgaiting goods? That is retarded.

Tell that to the Mass State Police. I think it was '99 that the MSP busted the tailgate for collecting donations at MLS Cup. Seems like it was at Foxborough anyway. Retarded none the less.
