The signs around the stadium were awesome. Guess this was one time a 12th (or 11th after the red) man didnt make for a win.

Props to D.C. from the left coast...stadium looked great, crowd was awesome all the way to the bitter end. An example for the rest of the league to follow...

Also want to give honorable mention to the Quakes fans who sold out Spartan Stadium. I hope the poor results for both teams don't dim that fire.

The supporters groups represented in style tonight, all the way to the (very) bitter end. Well done.

Shame United didn't show up to receive the support.

Yep. I just finished watching my tape (couldn't be at the game or in front of the tube for the real thing) and the only reason I kept watching after Marsch's goal was to see how the supporters performed.

A+

Way to go everyone.

It was an awe inspiring display of support and fidelity! School was in session, hope fans from the rest of the league were taking notes.

Too soon, dude.

We bounced and sang until the team left the field and then an extra minute for good measure. That's class. Dissapointment doesn't make us go home early. We ********ing rock.

Adu almost got himself ejected with about 10 minutes left, sliding with his cleats up into Logan Pause's knee. Stott assessed him only a yellow card. By then, the silenced crowd was heading for the tunnels.

Im sorry, but this bothers me. Mr. Goff, what match were you watching? Youve been covering United long enough, you know the fans here, or at least I thought you did.

I thought you were a reporter, and only interested in the FACTS? Your statement here, couldnt be further from the truth.

The fact is, United supporters and fans showed exactly why we are THE CLASS of MLS. No other sports team in north america, and most definately no other club in MLS has fans who will not only stay to the better end, but take the last 15 minutes of a 4-0 home playoff loss ROUT, and stand, cheer, jump, and sing, and celebrate the greatest club in MLS and thier history, and be happy to be a part of that.

ME personally, I was just as upset as anyone. Last year tears of sheer and utter elation and joy rolled down my face. THis year, the opposite. I thought about leaving the match in the last 15 mins. It crossed my mind. Weak moment I guess. But I looked up at the scoreboard, most of the supporters entire side just beginning to jump and sing in full voice, and looked over at those 4 championship banners hanging by the clock. I thought to myself, im staying until the the clock says 90:00, and our team walks over to us for a final thank you and farewell for the 05 season because they deserved to be thanked and cheered. The rest of the match, I felt I was a part of something incredibly special, and something that youd never ever see, anywhere else. Something on the VERY VERY BEST fans in the world would be capable of, and do.

Singing and jumping arm and arm with fellow supporters and friends United fans took that final, painfully show 15 minutes or so, and used it to thank the team,a nd celebrate everything we have to be happy about and proud of, and when it comes down to it, no other team nor thier fans in MLS has more to be thankful for and proud of than D.C. United supporters. It was, in the face of our worst nightmare come true, one of the greatest experineces as a United supporter ive had since the beginning.

Big thanks go to Deko21DCU, Beltway Rob, Black& Red #17, KGDG, CFCinDC and other SEs who helped with the banner painting, hanging and setting up the table rolls yesteday. It was a lot of work but everything looked great (and gives me hope that we can pull off similar stuff in the future!)

I got into the stadium late so I didn't get to see if the table roll idea went off well.

For the first 10 minutes after Gomez' ejection, everytime play came down to our corner, the ENTIRE corner erupted in a "Referee Sucks" chant.

Would the replay change the fact that the referee sucks?

I think all the highlights from yesterday had to do with the fans, and one of them for me was hearing the quiet side start that chant. Loudly. Loudest I've heard them since MLS Cup '97. Well done.
