i know this could be posted in the player section but its pretty much dead there.

How fast are some pros at 100m , 50m, 25m 10m ?

i heard cisse ran 100m 10 seconds flat which is kind of hard to belive.

so fast are the fastest players?

No idea what his sprint times are, but supposedly the fastest player in Serie A is Ivan Cordoba.

I also don't know how Michael Owen really compares to other speedy players - all I know is he's very fast compared to most players - but his 100m time is reportedly 10.8 seconds.

Frankie Hejduk, the fastest player on the US national team, runs 100m in 10.9 seconds if I remember correctly.

Frederik Ljungberg, Thierry Henry should be some of the fastest, but that's just base on what I've seen :)

ya 10.9 is more reasonable i think

wouldnt 50m times be more important then 100m times?

wouldnt 50m times be more important then 100m times?Yes. And acceleration on short distances too.

I think they mentioned on today's telecast of the Charlton vs. Bolton game that Rommedahl ran/runs the 100m in 10.2 seconds. I was half asleep when I heard that, so I cannot say for sure that I did not just dreamt this up.

.

However, Ronaldo was timed constantly faster than Owen in 100m last season during training at Real Madrid. Ronaldo looked slow due to his size, etc, but he is probabbly still among the fastest.

He isn't Rommedahl fast, but David Odonkor can run the 100m under 11 seconds as well.

Apparently Choi Tae Uk, who played for South Korea in the last World Cup (though he was usually sitting on the bench), also represented South Korea in the 100m sprint in the Olympic Games. I can't think of any other individual who has both played in a World Cup and run the 100m in the Olympic Games, so he's probably one of the world's fastest soccer players.

Also note: if Frankie Hejduk runs 100m in 10.9 seconds, then Arjen Robben may well be in the 10.5 range, because he was obviously the faster sprinter of the two in the 2004 Netherlands-USA friendly.

you do realise that when it reads 10.9 it means 10.90 not 10.09 sec -

I'm not to sure about the 100m,I would really just have to guess, maybe Cisse or Martin? But in the 30m sprint Ronaldo does it in 3 seconds, which explains why he always flicks the ball in front and has the confidence to beat any defender to it,as far as explosion and acceleration he has to be at least in the top 3. Last season during Real Madrid training he was consistently clocked in as the fastest in the 30m,faster then even Owen. That is pretty impressive for anybody let a alone a man his size and with the history of injuries. Check out this clip of Ronaldo's first step explosion which is one of has to be the fastest first step in the world.

Its amazing how when somebody plays him a long ball for example the defender is so much closer to the ball then he is but yet fat man gets there first.

Not playing anymore but Wim Suurbier could do the 100m in 10 seconds with ease. I heard he even did it once in training after partying all night long.

I'm not sure how fast he is exactly but Quincy Owusu has got to be one of the fastest players I've ever seen.
