the best i can make out he's saying, "et alors, c'est qui la petite soeur?" (so then, who's the little sister?) but i'm not very good at this kind of thing... just like song lyrics.

Correct !

The clip was an extract of the movie 'Les 11 Commandements' where Michael Youn and his accomplices have to overcome 11 challenges à la 'Jackass'. I'm personally not so fan of it but once in a while. I'm quite versatile. :D

OST clip : http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/youn/video/318051

Michael Youn is a French comedian who officiated in a morning show (Morning Live) and came to fame through that, with notably a lot of pranks. He even made a lot of bucks with this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mv7ljo9x0g

Yes, the melody is simply one of those prerecorded stuff on electronic keyboards. Midas Touch, I say !

I wonder how on Earth he avoided jail with this one !

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/youn/video/174921

And to finish, a little treat for guignol. ;)

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/youn/video/286814

Once again, I think I contributed greatly to the expansion of French culture abroad...

Someone kidnapped our Nanbawan, and replaced him with some jerk fan of Mickael Youn ! Someone took his name and password, and is trying to disparage his reputation !

But it won't work. We all know that our Nanbawan would never fall that low. The real Nanbawan, so refined and well-read, who used to enlighten us with his infinite wisdom and palatial culture, he would die rather than post that kind of link. Please, Guignol, now you're a moderator, do something about it. Fire this petty pretender and give us the real Nanbawan back  .

Just wanted to share a song that I really used to like. I never seen the video which is painfully dated. Any poster under 25 is not allowed to make fun of me.
Does anybody remember them? I remember 2 hit they had from the 80's.

The french webradio "bide et musique" will offer you a fine collection of the worst songs and musics ever recorded (it's not 24/24, so beware of time difference if you connect from USA) :

http://www.bide-et-musique.com/

They have a database which, not surprisingly, includes your "artists" :

http://www.bide-et-musique.com/artist/89.html

http://www.bide-et-musique.com/song/179.html

One of my favorites is dating from 1979 :

http://www.bide-et-musique.com/song/6233.html

You can download a video they made (divX format). That's painful.

Is there a reason why Americans can't design a protective and badass firefighter helmet like Gallet's F1 helmet for the sapeurs-pompiers?

Because the Gallet helmet looks like some 1984 shit.

I've read that the Paris and NY fire depts were under some kind of deal, to exchange ideas and experience, such as highrise fire security to be used in La Defense, while NYC would get the french helmets.
But then 9/11 happened, and the nyc helmet became a legend, so they decided not to change it.

It's probably because Paris firemen have a military status, and because Gallet works mainly for the army. These guys always have more cash than mere civilians.

http://www.gallet.fr/index.php?id=45&L=5

Oh, BTW, Yankbastard. Gallet is also selling its helmets to the US military. The TC 3000 helmet ( http://www.gallet.fr/index.php?id=405&L=5 ) is known in USA under the name MICH.

Thanks for buying french !

My wife and inlaws always bitch about this... They're right too.... I mean can we not spend an extra 300 bones to save a lot of lives here? Just because it wasn't an American that invented the thing, we think it's junk.

Yeah I know about the MICH, I used to be in the army. I wasn't saying anything bad about the Frenchies this time, just pointed out that that helmet looked like some 1984 movie shit instead of a fire helmet.
