Apparently.

Celtic have been invited to provide the opposition when Newcastle honour Shearer with a testimonial next year, the date has not been set yet.

Always loved going down south, Newcastle should be a good day (and night) out, plus it's always nice to beat English teams regardless :D

I've not heard anything, I'd have thought we'd have got a worldclass team to play for Shearer's testimonial. :p

Souness said "Get me a UK team that's contested a European final within the last few years, except Liverpool" UP stepped Glasgow Celtic :D

Hope your mob can sing

Oh dear what was that today? and 3-0 tanking of WBA, the team that beat arsenal 2-1 a few weeks ago?

I'd love to play celtic, just to shut some people up, Celtic's team is nowhere near as good as Newcastle's. Parker, Emre, N'Zogbia, Tayler, Given, Shearer and Owen are just a selection of the players that would walk into Celtic's first team.

And for the record (catfish ;) ) Newcastle haven't asked anyone.

Ok thanks, just thought it was a done deal, oh well.

Generally Celtic get asked to do testimonials because we have a huge travelling support and testimonials are normally about generating huge wedges of cash for the player being honoured, we have visited newcastle before on these games. We must be one of the top choices in the UK for testimonials.

I heard this one was being talked about as a done deal, must not be then.

I would take Given you can keep the rest of this lot. Imagine what Owen and Shearer could do with a real midfield intsead of the pish you lot are using now. Oh I guess I would have to push some of the blame his royal excellenncy Souness. A pish Gaffer if I have ever seen one.

You sir are a moron.

You would rather have the Celtic midfield than Solano, Emre, Parker and N'Zogbia/Luque?

Souness isn't that bad.

Parker and Emre seems to be the only two players earning there Euro's at the moment. Would be nice to see a Parker Emre Petrov and Nakamura midfield though.

PS. Souness is still Pish always has been always will be. nuff said.

We have pounds here

Oh yeah Solano and N'Zogbia have been rubbish this season.

Do you actually think about what you are saying before you type?

If Petrov was any good he'd have been bought a long time ago and Nakamura is total wank.

You live in america and so i'm guessing your american right? If so stop using the word pish.

1. Irrelevent (Pounds, Dollars, Euro's)
2. I am not saying they are rubbish but they would not unseat Petrov and Nakamura. We will just agree to disagree on this issue.
3. Sometimes.
4. Petrov has been linked with clubs such as Everton and Blackburn to say a few. Why would you leave a club that is in Europe every year and a tier 1 club for a bunch of tier 2 clubs who are mediocre at best? Sorry maybe winning means more than money to me. Nakamura is coming along nicely hustle's his butt off.
5. I don't understand you people, you piss and moan when I use american words you do not like and so I try to use your terms and i get crap. guess theres no winning.

It's not irrelevent.

Wow Everton and Blackburn you say? I can see why you rate him so much when teams like that are after him!

I haven't pissed and moaned about anything.

When Gattuso was at Rangers he was bought by a newly promoted team to Serie A who eventually finished 15th. Sheffield Wednesday (no bigger than Everton) took di Canio off Celtic. Bottom of the league Nottm Forest bought van Hooijdonk off Celtic. I could go on. Petrov would get into the vast majority of premiership teams. He's captaining Bulgaria for years and is only 26.

On Nakamura. He is Japan's best player. Considering the players they have and the top class football they play that is a nice accolade to have. He has been inconsistant for us this season but has shown in 3 or 4 matches that he has quality. In our high scoring games he's usually the player that sticks out. Petrov got a hattrick last week but for me Naka was the best player on the pitch.

Gattuso may be an exception but it was a mistake that Rangers let him go.

Di Canio is wank and always has been.

van Hooijdonk? Wow you really know how to pick these consistant world class players don't you?

Petrov is 26 and at the top of his career, if no-one comes in for him now they never will.
