Wolves have recently taken over Ross's loan from Sheffield Wednesday, with a view to a permanent signing. Is he any good? I know he kept Kevin Muscat (who was quite highly regarded at Wolves) out of the Rangers team a few years back, but he's been signed as cover for Jackie McNamara, who's out for the rest of the season. I believe he came on as a sub in Wolves' defeat to Watford but don't know how he played (Kenny Miller tore his hamstring in the same game).

I was sorry to hear about Jackie, he should never have left Celtic, it was due to our board's incompetence and jackie taking the hump, still I hope he does well for Wolves (always had a soft spot for Derek Dougan)

I'm a Celtic fan so may not be the best person to answer this, but Ross is not a replacement for Jackie in any way/shape or form, he is slow and clumsy, and that's his good points.

Good luck this season.

Ross was a very good prospect a couple of year ago, he even had a acouple of very good games for Scotland (especially at Hampden against Germany). But then I don't know what happened, he slowly got worse and worse until latterly with Rangers he was so pish you wouldn't believe it was the same player.

Agreed. Looked really comfortable when he first broke into the Rangers side, but when the boo-boys got on his back, he never really performed.

Also likes his drink (allegedly).

Well I doubt if he'd have been booed (not that I condone that sort of thing anyway) if he hadn't played poorly in the first place.

My point is that I feel that there were times when he was barracked unfairly by his own supporters. Some folk just had it in for him after a while. He seemed to be a "confidence" player. When the fans were behind him, he did well, when they were on his case (as was more often the scenario), he was often found wanting. Pity because, as I and others have said, he began his career at Ibrox in promising fashion (under Advocaat), but went backwards (under McLeish...).
