current league title in one of the big 4 leagues OR winning a CL if they were resurrected 'as is' to the peak form they displayed over a campaign?
Vote and discuss.
Consider a squad for the likes of 50's Honved, Madrid etc and Liverpool of 70's -80's mixed enough for them to compile a squad that meets todays regulations. Remember we are talking about each team in at its very best, or using their peak season as the team we displace into a modern competition. How do you think your selected team would do considering the rigours of the modern game and the rule changes?

I still think that the Ajax of the mid 90's,in its peak ,was the strongest club side in history.the peak of that unstopable team was from the beginning of the 95' season to the mid of the 96' season.in that perfect period of one year and a half they didn't loss even one single game.beat Capello's Milan 3 times, beat Real madrid 2-0(4-0!!) at their own home, beat Bayern munich 5-2,and destroyed their league's opoinents on the road to win the dutch league championship and the Uefa Champion's league unbeaten.their CL record between the years 95'-96' was:15 wins,6 draws, and only 1 loss!!
I am sure that if ther would be a tournement of great historicall teams, that Ajax would win it.and that's because they were the best and the strongest team in the world in(perhaps) the most competetive decade in the history of football-the 90's.

This one answers itself really.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt it's Milan of the late 80s-early 90s.
Ajax would have been anhiliated if they had faced Milan in their pomp. The team they beat only finished 4th in the league and were lacking a top striker.

Football has advanced so much with every year. While I think Pele was a better player than Maradona, I feel like a head to head with these two players in their prime, Maradona would have won. The level of football in the 80's was far ahead that of the 60's.
Which is why I chose Real Madrid late 90's through early 00's. Ajax '95 gets a very close second.

I would say Real Madrid 50's-60's. They had so many good players but I'm not sure how well they would fare against teams of this era.

I would say Real Madrid of the 1950's. I admitted being biased. I gave it to them because they played against some of the greatest teams in Europe, namely the Busby babes and Barcelona of Kubala.
Then, I would go with Milan of late 1980s. They owned one of the greatest defense in the history of the game, but people tended to think of their attackers when their name was brought up.
