Let me be the first to give my thoughts:

Got the game Wednesday, and have played it a little since then. So far so good! I love the TeamTalk feature. I can't wait to chew out a player who as a 4 at the half. Haven't checked out MLS for accuracy yet, but I plan to over the next few days. You can get a updated fixture schedule (at least for some of the European leagues), the patch that makes Oliver Kahn magically appear, and some skins. I'll get links when I get home.

So far, so good. Now all I need is some quality cheapo players for Coventry City and we'll be on our way!

If anyone bought the PC/Mac version. Well, get ready for the trouble to begin. Many of you may not have any problems whatsoever. An equal number of you will share the pain and loss of the game being riddled with problems from arse to elbow.

I hope the developers burn in hell for releasing a game with such fundamental problems. Thousands can't play the game beyond January 2006 for example. I was lucky. I got to the end of my third season before the game decided it didn't want to go further than May 2008.

The first patch is the sigames peoples' first fallback. That's all well and good, except it doesn't bloody fix the plethora of software problems with the game. The cheeky bastards even had the nerve to suggest that thousands of people had exactly the same hardware problem. This was apparent from the first day it was released and they better get a shift on in getting a patch out to fix it, if they manage to fix it.

The must have tested it for all of 5 minutes before deciding to fleece people for money.

No idea if the console versions are problem free, but for all those who are thinking of buying the PC/Mac version - DON'T DO IT!.

Great game, utterly rubbish software.

Bloody hell you've got to 2008 already? I've clocked up 19 hours on it already and I've just finished the first season.

So far I've only had a few niggly problems like my tactics resetting after a few games of my coaches vanishing for weeks

No crashing issues.....yet

moan, moan, moan.

I have had no problems with FM06 and can testify to the level of testing that goes on both before and after release. Sigames are one of best developers in the world. That is why they ditched their previous publisher, do extensive research, testing and continue to improve the game throughout it's life cycle. It is what they have been continually praised for throughout this series. They had a patch out on the day of release, as usual, and are actively working through any data errors and bugs that have been identified. That's what they do and you should be bloody thankful for the TLC they have towards both the game and users.

The issue you are whining about only affects a small proportion of users and they are working to find a solution. That takes time and requires the cooperation of those with the problem. So instead of bad mouthing them and bitching away, why don't you head over to their site and help them?

Get a ********ing grip mate.

I shall be purchasing this game no matter what some pricy downtown London football shirt store says to contrary, thanks though.

I've had no problems yet, into Feb '06. Haven't installed the patch -- can you keep playing the same game after, or do they recommend starting a new game?

It's better to start a new game.

care to state why?

Yes, because I can claim, the damn ludicrosity(sp) of the injuries. I don't care if ludicrousity(sp) isn't a word. But I had Marquez, Puyol, and Ronaldinho injured at the same time.

So is it a recommend or or a not.

so your saying there is no chance in real life of these three players being injured at the same time?

to me, at least, it seems like there is a slanted advantage towards the AI.

things like constantly dominating games but losing/drawing on really really fluky or odd goals. things that happen, yes, in real life, but not every single match.

its a hard game, no question (unless youre one of those people who only playes with teams like chelsea, the scum, barcalona or real madrid)

I have to admit, this is happening to me a lot. But I'm playing Arsenal (usually I'm an LLM guy, but I want to see what happens to the finances when we move into the new ground, and I want to see if Roman Abramovich is ever indicted for anything), and my first season has paralleled Arsenal's real season in an almost scary way. I can't beat the lower table teams, injuries have been horrible, and I'm always losing on late goals after dominating. It does seem to be a harder game, but I'm not so sure I think that's a bad thing.

i think it is a bad thing. its not realistic.

i mean, i dunno. does every goalkeeper in the league have thier BEST game of the season againt leeds, for example? every time?

do teams win games with 100% shooting (i.e, 2 shots on net, 2 goals) more than 60 or 70% of the time? while holding off a team who had anywhere from 10-20 shots?

yeah....

Its always been like that IMO. Now I havn't tried this game yet and I probably might still buy it, but from my views theyve always had the superkeeper problem.

Normally, the superkeeper issue comes up for teams with decent/very good GKs.

But what they've done is they've tuned down the hidden 'gel' factor, as well as added a bit of an 'AI Mental lapse'. Meaning that if you're beating a team down with posession, you're more likely to concede-based on "overconfidence".

Also, the emphasis on mental stats over physical and even technical in some places evens the field a bit.

No wonder you're having problems, OGHT. You're playing Leeds. :D

I'm not an LLM guy - I prefer lower table first division clubs. Right now I have a game as Palermo and another as Real Zaragoza.

Here's an interesting problem, or maybe it's just an oddity. I'm playing Arsenal (usually I do LLM games, but I wanted to see what happened financially as we move into the new stadium), and it's now August of 2007, entering my 3rd season. All of a sudden I have other prem clubs (and some foreign, such as Ajax) coming out of the woodwork asking to take first teamers on loan -- including Sol Campbell, who so far remains at the height of his powers, and just signed a new contract! It doesn't really cause problems, 'cause I just turn 'em down, but I've never seen anything like it before. I'm running the first FM06 patch, and hadn't bothered to download anything newer 'cause the game is running fine. Just kind of weird.
