View Full Version : As Central Americans, which team do you think is best, Mexico or US? be objective

which team is best? please be objective and leave grudges out of it. Further, consider the overall picture, i.e. tactical, strategic and stylistic methods of play; quality of players; history; outlook; and lastly, your preference as to which should represent the type of soccer which should be played in Central America and Concacaf. Please give your opinions from a Central American point of view.

historically, Mexico has been better, but currenly I think that the US is better than Mexico, because they dogg Mexico at home + NEUTRAL sites, that 2-0 lost to the US in the WC confirmed who's in charge. If you want to be successfull, you have to win in Neutral sites and not just at home. Because that's how you win WC's.

Usa, simply cause there better , they play on the road with no pressure,
they have a league that exports there young top talent to europe, mexican doesn't
right now its USA , if mex and usa play again its all USA

Mexico is better IMO.
USA is able to demonstrate their strenghts against nothing but one of the big teams...and that is Mexico. It is the only of the big teams that I've seen them beat. But Mexico has accomplished much more recently, specially in the Confederations Cup. And also, I like their style of play better, A LOT better. I think they have more arguments to make CONCACAF proud.

Mexico is better, they have a better domestic league, they have accomplished more at international level. But, US is very close behind and might pass them in a few years and also Costa Rica is very close too.

Back in grade school ppl useto think i was mexican beacuse i was costa rican and they dint know ******** aobut maps .and i whould get in alot of fights .....

Of course im not Central American and my opinion does not really matter for this but as a hard core Mexico fan i am the first to admit that U.S. is coming to us hard and fast and there have been times that U.S. has defeated Mexico not by enough to say that they are "better" though.Mexico has beaten Brazil five times in the last years once in Confederation Cup final, gold cup final, and other important tournaments like this year's confederation cup group but that does not make them better than Brazil and i admit it they did not win once by an overwhelming amount, except for Sub 17 :D but thats out if topic. Brazil has so much more international credit than Mexico and that does count for a lot.Same with U.S. and Mexico, U.S. does not have enough international titles to say they are better, besides a couple of Gold Cups. But i am the first to admit that if mexico doesnt watch their back U.S. will kick us to the curb and become the CONCACAF King. :) LATER (comments appreciated only cause ima a newbie!!)
