I can't find the link damn it! but their is a very strong rumor of Christophe Duggary(one of my favorite French internationals though now retired) going to Birmingham City. I personally don't think its a great move for him Birmigham isn't that much of a step up from Bordeaux why leave to go to a midddle of the table EPL team that has no shot of winning the title.

I have no idea why he would move.

Would it be for a bigger paycheck?

They are more interested in him than he is in them they are the ones persuing they want to add some offense to help avoid relegation.

As far as I understand it is a done deal and Christophe will fly back from Seychelles (having a holiday break with Zizou) directly to Birmingham. Poor him !! I am a bit disapointed as well since it is clearly not a step up compared to Bordeaux. But on the other hand I can uderstand he is fed up of being a target pour tous les cretins qui le sifflent chaque semaine sur tous les terrains de France.

Good luck Christophe.

A step down? Bordeaux?

Surely not?

Birmingham are mid table in a league amongst man utd, arsenal, liverpool, chelsea, spurs, newcastle, leeds.

All far, far better teams than bordeaux, monaco, marseille.

Dugarry will keep the bench warm for Kirovski

Wow. A strange move. But I really shouldn't be surprised by now, with Djorkaeff to Bolton and whatnot.

Personally, I have always thought Dugarry was incredibly overated. For someone of his physique and skills he should score far more goals than he does.

But who knows? Perhaps this move will just the thing to jumpstart his career. He's not getting any younger and probably figures 'what the hell'.

I saw highlights of the press conference today he seemed really happy to be playing in the Premiership. He's the 15th member of the French 98 WC team to play in the EPL. They said he had 2 1/2 years left on his contract with Bordeaux. He was born in Bordeaux and spent most of is career playing there I still don't know why he left for Birmingham a club battling relegation appearantly based on what he said at the press conference the decision was easy despite spending most of his life in the ciy of Bordeaux. The Birmingham manger said he was the biggest signing in their history. No disrepect to Christope but if he's your biggest signing ever then thats a sorry ass club you got there. Based on what he's done in club and intl. level recently he's clearly on the downside of his career. I doubt he's gonna get better with age like an Alan Shearer or a Gianfranco Zola I hope he does well but he may turn out to be a big bust. There was a really funny quote by him at the press conference on how he's a fighter he likes to fight and in France he said they don't like fighting. He dissed his own country in front of the whole world
