Apparently Trezeguet is happy to see Anelka back in the squad. It would be nice if Anelka could realize the potential that he showed early on. You have to wonder if something like this could have a positive effect on his state of mind.

My biggest fear for the world cup has been an injury to Trez or Henry..... Cisse is not the solution as the third man up front for les blues.... Anelka may be. How many goals has Anelka scored for Fener this year? I saw a stat like 14 goals in 30 plus appearances for the club? Any details on his current form?

Are you sure he spent much of his childhood, (even one visit) in Martinique? Pre 15 years old? I've never heard of this so maybe I just don't know, but what I find unbelievable, from everything I've read, they wouldn't have been able to afford making this happen even once.i'm no expert on the subject, but i think people from the antilles can get special subsidized plane tickets once a year.

barthez may indeed be the best choice to be the france NT keeper. he's getting a chance to get his spot back. but on current form, not many in france think he's better than coupet.

i see a couple of problems with your XI:

three backs? can anybody remember seeing les bleus line up this way?

trezeguet hasn't been the most regular goal producer for france, but he's shown for years he can score plenty and recently he's on fire.

rothen contrarywise has never really proven himself, and recently... he blows.
