I'm just guessing that Martinez and Parks play outside of the CRC championship??

Martinez plays for Brescia and Parks plays for Lokomotiv Moscow.

I always thought that Henry's family hailed from Guadeloupe. He himself was born en Metropole.

He said today on French news that his mother was from Martinique.

Til now all I've seen is what Domenech had to say about re-calling Nico, and nothing what Nico said. And btw, Nico is also from Martinuqe. And I also read that Nico might start. Would that be possible with Cisse in the side?? And a cool fact I never knew is that France are unbeaten since Domenech took over.

The "goal-keeper saga":

_it'll be Barthez against Costa-Rica
_and Coupet against Germany

"Raymond" won't make a decision as to who will be
our #1 keeper until March 06

He was born in Les Ulis in Paris. But he spent a lot of his childhood in his parent's native Martinique. He has strong ties with the island.

I believe Thuram is from Guadeloupe.

Thuram is from Guadeloupe. He was born in the largest city, Pointe-a-Pitre. He left for L' Hexagone at the age of nine.

Are you sure he spent much of his childhood, (even one visit) in Martinique? Pre 15 years old? I've never heard of this so maybe I just don't know, but what I find unbelievable, from everything I've read, they wouldn't have been able to afford making this happen even once.

Apparently from an article I read about him, he often stayed with his grandmother in Martinique when he was little.

Maybe not a lot, but he spent a chunk of his life there and he has very strong bonds to it.

Yeah, I'd go with that...

Probably Cisse for Anelka me thinks with Malouda on the left and Wiltord on the right.

It will be interesting if Coupet or Barthez start...

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what Anelka can do. I want to see him start. He's from the region so why not?

I dont think its going to be a high scoring game however with Zizou out, maybe 1 or 2 goals for France.

And starting team according to Eurosport.fr:

Bizarre, bizarre...now, still at eurosport.fr, it's
changed to this:

---------------Barthez -------------

Gallas---Thuram---Givet---Abidal

Wiltord---Diarra---Dhorasoo---Malouda

----------Anelka-----Henry

So...if I were you, I wouldn't take my word for it
;)

From Eurosport:

"Au milieu de terrain, Vieira et Makelele sont laissés au repos, sans doute pour débuter samedi contre l'Allemagne, et Domenech a choisi d'aligner un milieu axial pour le moins inédit avec le duo Diarra-Dhoraso."
