Interesting write-up on Twellman. Not really sure if the Fifa.com writer is tuned into the US squad all that well, or not.

"Mexico's Duilio Davino (5) and U.S.' Taylor Twellman, right, compete for a header during the second half of an international friendly match, Wednesday April 28, 2004, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The U.S. defeated Mexico 1-0. (AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez)"
:D
The photog misidentified Casey as Twellman, so it's kind of hard to blame the guy who wrote the story for FIFA.

It must not have been thoroughly researched because the writer forgot to mention that Twellman sucks.
On the other hand, maybe that's being saved for the Convey write-up.
Or maybe they just don't check these boards first.

The writer also said that the US and Scotland haven't played in 53 years, which I find interesting since I was at the last game they played in 1998.

And what a boring, prophetic game it turned out to be, too.

I was in Israel at the time, so I didn't watch the game.

It was the World Cup '98 send off match, played in D.C. I believe. A boring affair in which we got one chance on goal, Scotland were no better. Just aweful.
Chiyo is a character in a Japanese anime show. Azumanga Daioh

It was on ABC too.

God, I wish that USA v Scotland game had never happened. It was one of the hottest games I've ever attended. Ever.
It must've been over 100 degrees on the field. My wife, brother-in-law and I had seats behind the north goal. My brother-in-law and I painted our faces red white and blue, and it was so hot all of the makeup ran off our faces onto our shirts.
The game itself was miserable because of the heat.

lol - imagine how the Scottish players must have felt - they certainly weren't used to that kind of heat. And yet we didn't score a goal...

It's funny because it's true.

As noted above, though we tried not to note it at the time, that performance was indicative of how the US would do at the Finals.

The USA hasn't played vs Scotland in Scotland in 53 years. :)
