these are probably the most annoying threads but..

seeing that they're on sale for under $100, I've been thinking about buying a pair of Puma KSL's to continue my trend of buying boots that are red and white. I was wondering if they're worth getting, how they run in sizing, etc. A former teammate had the gold pair when they first came out a few years back, and they seemed to last forever(he, and his brother never seemed to have luck with boots. they'd always have tape across the toebox because of their "egyptian hammer toe" as everyone joked)

They run a little narrow, but are a great boot. Stories that they fall apart after 3 months is malarkey, ADIkeeper's pair aside. Before the Execs came out this was the boot you saw all the pros endorsed by Puma wearing. The Pittard's leather does not stretch much, however, so make sure the sizing is spot on before wearing them on the pitch. Eastbay.com had the silver/black pair for $59.99 not too long ago. Not sure what they have left now, though.

yeah, only a size 8 now though. I was going to get the original all blue a little while back for about the same price but was foolish and had to get a braaand new pair of boots which fell apart in 2 months.

I honestly don't know how you young'uns can make a pair of boots fall apart in a matter of months. I have had boots last me years & years!

I'm also considering some KSL's especially as you can get them in UK for £28 (red) or £35 (silver/black). How narrow do they run? I wear Kelme masters which are a wide last and fit me well.

do you know anyone who would ship to Singapore? 35 quid is really cheap.

Well if you found out a price for shipping then I'm sure someone would post a pair over to you if you paid for them upfront. They may even ship to singapore if you asked the supplier.
Only limited sizes but all are available in 8, most in 9 (UK)

Red SG £27.99:

silver/black SG £34.99:
http://www.sport4choice.com/cgi-bin/s4c.cgi?usr=742660&page=showitem&cat=13&pid=3177&group=Boots&subgroup=Soft%20Ground

white/red FG £39.99:
http://www.sport4choice.com/cgi-bin/s4c.cgi?usr=742660&page=showitem&cat=13&pid=4154&group=Boots&subgroup=Firm%20Ground

silver/black FG £39.99:
http://www.sport4choice.com/cgi-bin/s4c.cgi?usr=742660&page=showitem&cat=13&pid=4159&group=Boots&subgroup=Firm%20Ground

So how narrow are they? If I wear an 8 in kelmes would I be better with an 8.5 in the KSL?

Also matthewfoo, I gather you like your Brasils? They have those in SG for £34.99 in sizes 7, 8, 10 & 10.5 (UK) and FG for £34.99 but only in 6 & 7.

I'm deciding between the brasil & KSL myself, I want a pair of SG in reserve for when it is really wet.

The KSL are narrow as the Vapor2s(which arent that narrow). i tried them on at a local store, liked them but didnt buy them. i'm kicking myself coz the shops are sold out of most sizes and they aint bringing anymore in,only the execs(much much wider shoes) If you're comfy in a kelme, you'd def be comfy in a brasil. Sorry but i cant give u a good size convertion from a kelme to a brasil. The brasils run much bigger than nike or adidas. In fact my brasils are at least half a size too big, but they still feel good during practices and kickabouts. Unlike the copas, the brasil have removable insoles which i feel is great for cleaning/washing. I was deciding which of my boots to loan a friend and i deicded to let the copas go(for some time) coz the brasils dried much faster inside after washing! Also its great to stock up on the classic brasils, with the new brasil range in (brasil axeler, as narrow as the nove, tried both) i dont know if they would discontinue the old ones. im size 7-7.5(depending on make) so im considering the £34.99 pair. lol im just blabbering hope thisd helps. Thanks for the info man :)

No worries, just read somewhere that you are size 7 or 7.5 US, you often see sites with really discounted boots only available in UK6 so they would suit you down to the ground.
I have copas as well and they fit fine, but have split at the side of the toe :( Would you say the brasil fit the same as the copa? Have you got any pics of your brasils?

Also that same site had a pair of KSL Italia FG for £24.99 in 6.5UK, look pretty nice but are navy rather than black with Italy badge on heels.

Yeah actually ive seen a couple fo discounted boots with my size, but the shipping really kills esp if its frm the UK lol. I have quite an old pic of my collection in the pic of your boots thread. www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243860 first page if im not wrong. I dont have an individual pic but u can see it in the collection. Actually, i think the copas are a tad narrower than the brasils, just a tad and visibly so...both mine are in US7.5 an both are too big, but still feel great. how do the KSL italia differ from the normal? design i presume?

Had seen that pic thanks :) The tongues on the brasil llok quite flappy if you know what I mean, do they stay down OK? Suppose I could sew some elastic on. Think I might order a pair anyway I love the copas and these are very similar, shame I won't wear them much although we do get a lot of rain in UK :) Missus will be happy as usual ;)

I have a pair of boots that have lasted for 2 1/2 years now. The pair that fell apart were predator manias, they split at the bottom. I still tape them and wear them from time to time, but it's just the fact that they didn't last well. I didn't do anything extra-ordinary with them. wore them from august to october for practice and games, which I suppose is a lot of playing time.

I got some Gold KSL's in SG for about 25 pounds. I really needed SG boots, so I got these in size 8 even though they were really tight.
I ran warm water over the toe area in my basin and wore socks that i had soaked in warm water, and wore the boot around my house.

After a few uses, they stretched to my feet. I loooove my KSL's :)

Amen to that!!!

As far as the KSLs go. To me they are amazing. I've have my silver/black ones since last december and other than the silver coming off on the toes, They are in GREAT shape. They are pretty narrow, and if you have average to narrow feet. I would recommend them. I like them, simple, no frills great all around boot. GREAT it wet weather. But I think the stud grip is a little inferior to the cellerators. But at a decent price, they're worth picking up.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but have you guys seen Martin Pelermo's Boca Junior coloured Puma KSL's? I've never seen many other players with such customised Pumas...I wonder how and why he got these...I suppose he's been there long enough to have!

I've got to bump this thread. There is for me, no other boot in wet weather I would rather where. I wish to high-heaven I had bought two SG pairs and two FG pairs of these boots.

I broke them out for this Fall season of Men's league and true to word, as soon as they get a little wet the leather turns into the best ever. They are a strong leather and they hold my foot in the perfect position for shooting. I can let go from anywhere with these shoes on and I know it'll be straight and pacy! :)

I miss 'em... can you tell?
