"...doing long division and forgetting to carry the one is "a stupid thing"; Mixing in a red sock with a load of whites is "a stupid thing"; Blowing some guy in a bathroom for 45 minutes while I sit at the bar wondering if you're taking so long because you ate too much bran that morning isn't as much a "Stupid thing" as it is grounds for permanent removal from my social calendar."

In the words of MasterCard - Priceless.

- - - -

- Dan, congrats to you and the Sox faithful! Clearly the best team won. Enjoy the fun and honors. Oh, and Happy Birthday yesterday.

- Hokies looked good last night. If they're lucky, FSU, Miami and UVA will give them an excuse to leapfrog Texas.

- Saw Batman Begins (VERY nice, IMO) the other night and watching Kingdom of Heaven tonight. More nominations for "guy flicks" welcome. For those with kids my wife and daughter HIGHLY recommend Wallace and Grommit.

- Has the Stateside crew landed safely? I thought I heard a few "Bloody hell's" yesterday...

- Saw where Gov. Bush was trying to claim responsibility for response and planning to Wilma, as in making sure everyone knew not to immediately slap FEMA or his brother again. How noble considering nothing major happened! "I'm Spartacus!" :rolleyes:

- College basketball is around the corner. What's the over/under on the number of ineligible players hitting the courts for Kentucky?

- Jay Mohr has an article on SI.com suggesting, roughly, that the NFL better do as the other pro sports and concede to the players association guaranteed contracts (because that works soooo well in the NBA and MLB, you know! ;) ) or offer lifetime medical care. I'll grant the last one, though I also think I can help those poor pro athletes out. You see, around here, we have this thing called medical insurance...

Yeah, I boned up on that before, especially when one of my friends launched into a tirade considering the erroneous aspects. "Dude, chill: It's not a documentary!" I'm mainly watching it for:
a) the portrayal of life at that time;
b) the, from what I understand is a decent plot debating morality vs religion/faith;
c) to wash the incredibly bad taste in my mouth from Alexander.

yeah, i enjoyed the film. I wrote my senior paper about the Crusades and the relationships between Muslims and Christians, so I was interested in the movie.

That email exchange was so good, I just read it aloud to my co-workers! Thanks for the Phriday treat Breads!

As for movies, Kingdom of Heaven is on it's way to my place from Netflix as I type (or so said their email to me that arrived 2 hours ago.)

Got a recomendation for a concise history of Jerusalem? Plowing through some stuff now, but it's as old as the city itself, seemingly.

Thanks, Dan. If you find something PM me or save it - I'm heading out for the weekend.

Good luck to our boys, all, and hope the AmeriGooners Abroad team has a great time. Just not SOOO great that they forget about it the next morning!
