GP, the Cubs home schedule was released today. they are playing at Wrigley the weekend of the United v Arsenal match gathering in Chicago. They play the Cards, so it will be an even tougher ticket.
damn...that would be sweet. So tough it shouldn't be an option? I have been to wrigley field before so if it doesn't work out c'est la vie....

If I can I will help you guys out. No promises though.
It would be worth it to know Dan was sitting in Wrigley on a cold April afternoon.

cool...and thanks Big, I will let you know....I am not actually 'set' on going to a game (as I saw them at Wrig in 90)....I'd prefer a cool show at a Chicago venue.

i actually like Wrigley Field a lot (not sure how many Sox fans are willing to admit that, the ones that aren't know nothing of the history of baseball) so I don't mind going to games there.

ryan, where should i look for a recording of the Guster show i was at on saturday? (10.29.05 at the Riviera Chicago, IL)? bt.etree doesn't have anything. I know its only been a few days (2 week waiting standard), but i know people get shows turned around quick sometimes. Plus I know it was recorded because I was behind the guy recording it at the beginning of the show!

I was just about to reply with a "You're a tool" because the picture didn't show at first. Then I saw the link, copy-pasted it into a new tab, and instantly I felt like I'm the tool.

Dan: I really don't see guster shows posted except on the archive TBH...I will, of course, keep an eye out for you. I think they are coming here soon...
BTW, did you friend like the Buffett Wrigley show?
Mike: you da man re: dime....OMG is all I can say.
General comment for old school snail mail traders: I can't believe we see turnaround on some shows the same night. Remember the days of running home to see if you have a bubble package in your mail box? 3-4 weeks to complete trades? months before shows hit db.etree.org or bulletin boards? simply amazing....

Dude, I remember trading tapes and being on trees. For years I could never be a branch because people didn't think my deck was nice enough! I still have racks full of Dead and Phish tapes. The only problem is I don't have a tape deck anymore! (I don't know if I told you guys the accident of '01 story)

Sure, that'd be great, thanks! Lots of unlistened to Phish and Dead shows thank you!
and no, I haven't heard the story.
At 1 AM on April 8, 2001, just a few hours before Arsenal's FA Cup Semi-Final clash with Sp*rs, a mini-van decided to use my living room as a parking spot.
I had just finished watching SNL, as it was Coldplay's US television debut. My gf at the time was already asleep, and I had just ducked into the bathroom before joining her in bed when I heard a crashing sound. There was a closet next to the bathroom, and at first I thought that it was a shelf that had given way in the closet. So, without bothering to pull my pants up, I got out of the bathroom, into the hallway, and opened the closet door. Everything looked normal. I closed the closet door, and that's when I noticed a flashing light coming from the living room.
It was then that I realized that there was a minivan in my apartment!
As it turns out, the driver was not drunk or high, just tired and stupid. He had jumped the curb, navigated right between two trees, and smashed right through my living room windows. It was clear that had I not gotten up to go to the bathroom, I wouldn't be here to tell the tale.
When he smashed through the window, he also knocked part of the wall that had the air condition. It also knocked over my three piece entertainment center as if they were dominoes, blocking the exit.
As such, my gf and I were trapped! I called 911, and the fireman came to rescue us, and those in the van. The airbag had deployed, so they were fine. However, when the fireman came, they smashed up the entertainment center, and everything on it. I lost so many books, movies, etc, along with my TV, DVD player, VCR, N64, PS1, tape deck, cd player, equalisier, and much, much more.
While insurance gave me money to replace what I could, to this day, there are things that I look for, that I'm like "Oh yeah, accident." Not to mention my signed Derek Jeter baseball that got scuffed.
So, all this was happening, and you know what the only thing was going through my mind was @ 5 AM? "********, I'm going to miss the match!"
In fact, whenever that night comes up in conversation with my dad or my ex-gf, they always tease me about the fact that all I was worried about was missing the match.
on another note, mike: guess what Rachelle got me for my b-day?
