Here's some news on bidding compiled from various sources:
Toronto is one of the potential venues to stage matches for the CONCACAF 2009 Gold Cup. The next Gold Cup takes place in the U.S. in 2007 with venues announced early next year. No surprises here at all.
Italy and one of either Turkey or Hungary-Croatia will likely be shortlisted as candidiates to stage UEFA Euro 2012. The next one in 2008 is in Austria-Switzerland.
Australia plans to bid for the FIFA 2018 World Cup on behalf of Oceania Football Confederation though it joins the Asian Football Confederation effective Jan. 1, 2006.
Nigeria plans to bid for the CAF 2010 African Nations Cup. The next one is in Egypt next year.
