Anyone see the disallowed goal in the Fire game the other night? I have watched that a dozen times looking at every possible player trying to find something that I'd call a foul - and I can't see it. Even as a Fire fan, I can usually figure out what a referee was calling even if in my "biased" eyes, I wouldn't have. But this time I can't find what he may have been looking at.

Can anyone else figure out what foul he called?

The indications I got were that he called a foul on Barrett, and it was too much contact in the box... something along those lines, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Whatever the call was it was terrible. The whistle never should have blown, maybe it was a makeup for the PK he could have called when Brown drilled Quaranta in the first half. I do not think anyone will ever know what crap he called on that.

I may be biased as well, but he blew his whistle before the head even touched the ball, and I believe it was pushing on another player(One of the DC players, IIRC, got shoved to the ground, probably had little impact though)...it wasn't a solid call, I'll admit, but giving the blown PK at the other end you can't be to upset...

*EDIT*

Watched it again, it looked like Curtin nailed Prediux in the head with his arm. And I seem to be wrong about the whistle before the foul, but still looks like he called the foul before the goal.

Chris Rolfe of the Fire talked about the call in today's Chicago Tribune. The Fire players are like us, still scratching their heads. It's not like they don't agree with Brian Hall's explanation; rather, it's that they don't have the faintest idea what his explanation might be in the first place.

Chris didn't mention Hall by name but he talked about how "that guy" has whistled off other goals for the Fire this year. No love for Brian in Chicago.
