This is going to be a badass movie, read the article in newsweek about it, it's going to be one major production. I'll find the link for that newsweek article later.

Yeah, both movies are gonna kick ass. I almost as equally excited for AniMatrix. Those videos should start coming out in a year or so. 9 videos from 7 different directors tell the story of how The Matrix came to be, from present day to the time of Neo. I hate Anime but these I'll definately check out since it's probably my favorite movie of all time.

Cast is virtually the same, with the additions of Jada Pinkett, and Marvin Gaye's daughter, who was in Ali I believe. Aaliyha (sp?) was originally supposed to play the role that Gaye is in, but she passed away before he role in the movie was filmed.

I am really looking forward to the film. What was the reason for the long delay in it's release?

Mostly delays in filming, not to mention the 2,500 FX shots that have taken nearly 3 years to complete. Add to that they had to invent an entirely new way of digitizing computer generated images ("virtual cinematography"). This was actually a major breakthrough, aparently the days are over when you'll be able to tell a CGI image from a real one. There's one scene in Reloaded when Neo fights Agent Smith, who has learned how to replicate himself. So he actually fights 100 Agent Smiths', at the same time, only one is really Hugo Weaving, the rest are CGI characters, but you can't tell which is which.
One 17 minute scene in the third movie, Revolutions (coming out in November) cost two-thirds of the original Matrix budget (around 60mil I believe). There's one car chase scene in reloaded where instead of using an existing freeway, they built they're own 2 mile loop of freeway on Alameda AFB, for a cost of $300,000 per quarter mile.

Having not one, but two of your actresses in your movie die during production doesn't help.

Peledre my friend, thank you so much for the link. It was very informative. I had started to give up on seeing the sequel and now am anxiously awaiting May 15th. To paraphrase agent Smith, I can feel and smell the stink of the Matrix. It will rock!

I can't remember from the Lord of the Rings Previews, but I think Terminator 3 is coming out this year too isn't it? Not too mention the prequel to Dumb and Dumber (that could really be hit or miss though).

The T3 trailer looks awesome as does the girl who plays the new terminator.

I have to say, when I saw him as an elf in LOTR, I started cracking up. I kept waiting for him to say "I'm going to enjoy watching you di-i-i-ie, Mr. Baggins."
He should've nabbed an Oscar for The Matrix.

As soon as I saw Weaving in LotR I couldn't get Agent Smith out of my head. Every time I saw him on screen I kept saying to myself, "That's Agent Smith."
My aunt said almost the same thing except instead of Agent Smith she was thinking of some cross-dressing role in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

My monthly trip to the movies is planned out already...
January - I might go see Final Destination 2 cause the first one was pretty cool
February - DareDevil
March - None, although I'm scared of one of my friends cause she'll probably want to drag me to Piglet's Big Movie.
April - I might go see Shaolin Monk cause seeing Stifler be like Neo looks funny as hell.
May - X2 then 2 weeks later Matrix: Reloaded
June - Fast and the Furious 2 and the I'll probably check out Freddy vs. Jason just for s**ts and giggles.
July - T3 then of course the prequel to my favorite comedy of all time... When Harry Met Lloyd: Dumb and Dumberer
August - Gligli (Pacino and Walken in the same crime movie!?!?! Hell yeah I'm seeing this!)
September - Helldorado (It's got a pretty interesting cast)
November - The Matrix: Revolutions and then Havana Nights: Dirty Dancing 2 (haha... just joking, no way in hell am I seeing this!)
December - Then on December 16th is when I pop my cherry and watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy over a day or two for the first time compared to the span of two years you all have waited. :p
So yeah... this year is gonna be rockin!
