I got a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor IIs exactly two months ago, tomorrow. A little over a month ago, the uppers started to tear away from the soles. Since then the tears have gotten bigger and bigger everytime i use them. If I call Nike do you think they will exchange them or give me a refund?

Tell me your experiences with retunring stuff to Nike or with sole separation problems you've had with Vapors.

Should refund you if it's been less than a year or so since it was made. A year or two, I'm not sure exactly.

I think it's actually within a year of the manufacturing date of the boot. it has a date on the sizing tag.

i had some chrome/blue vapors, and after 2 months, the upper started coming off of the toe (like yours) and they gladley gave me a new pair for free. (it was at niketown)

I didn't get mine from a Nike store though. I got them from a local shop that is terrible with refunds. They barely took back a pair of unworn, brand new cleats the day after I bought them. There's no way they would take back a used pair that's messed up.

I don't even have a receipt anymore. Is there any hope? I emailed Nike on Monday, I think, and never heard back.

Lesson learned–don't buy from shops with horrible and/or unreasonable return policies.

And you should have started the return process the minute you noticed the tearing, instead of waiting. Now it is going to be harder, but not impossible.

I'm sending the cleats to Nike. If they find a flaw they're giving me a NikeTown voucher or sending me a replacement pair.
