I agree that the EPL commentators are better.

Here's the FSW email address:

Do something about it if you don't like it.

Anyone remember the thread where people were complaining about the commentator of the Spurs-DCU game and some poster called them all a bunch of whining muppets?

Please. If it wasn't for the mute button, Rick Sutcliffe would have caused me to gouge my eardrums out with a screwdriver a long time ago.

My trick for inane baseball commentary (which never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever pauses for even a millisecond), is to use the SAP button. Now all the inane babbling is done in a language I do not comprehend, and becomes more like the park's background noise than anything else. I suppose FSWespanol would work just as well.

seagroves;
I dont usually respond to idiot's responses but
your immature, ignorant reply that made me laugh
to tears... warrants a reply directly from me to you.

are you 12 years old?... dont quote someone
and then make it seem like you are demeaning
them without a strong case.... your responses
are some of the weakest I have ever seen on this
board... reread your reply.... you look like
an idiot.... people are laughing at you...

you make no sense.... keep to the issue at hand
and respond intelligently...

you wrote:

************************! You're no American. American's do not say "like-minded individuals" nor admit that England is better than America at anything. If anything you're one of those worthless French farmers that riots when the government doesn't keep the price of food artifically high so that they make a 70% profit on spoiled cabbage.

Oh how the mighty have fallen before the fickle masses. First it was Jack Edwards, now former FSW darling Christian Miles is put to the sword. Run for your lives Ty and Max, they'll turn on you too.'

*********************
the man never said England was better than
America ... he just said that the production
quality of their telecast was better than FSW..
I dont know your rational or understanding of your
"stupid" inclusion of the french farmer analogy in
your wayward response... The man said he was
an American .. and just admitted that he thought
the TWI broadcast was better.... what is the
problem...

dont know... let me tell you...
you are about 14yrs old and your whole football
experience is from ABC and ESPN... you have never
seen a good football broadcast....and your only
experience with world football is FSW...so you
think Bretos, and Miles are kings of broadcasting..
they have only been doing pBP for over five years
yet you think they are the kings of us broadcasting
.........get a life jr......

if you cant tell a quality broadcast....
then you.... yes you..... are the stupid one...

the EPL is on FSW for one reason and one reason
only... due to the PPV revenue... you have these
idiots calling the games... then you have the
punters in the pubs pissed off...... and yes...
the reason FSW is successfull is due to one thing
FSW coverage of the EPL... which goes hand in
hand with the commercial selling of the EPL to
pubs which makes it profitable... you have these
idiots calling games.... the expat population will
look to other avenues to find a quality broadcast
..and in this day and age... live on the net is not
bad at all.......

so you want your EPL... keep the TWI team..
if not... you wont see FSW in the near future.
its the cash cow that keeps the channel going.

I've just finished a Boxing day feast.
Three EPL matches from the comfort of my home.

Steven Hawking and Charro could do the commentary and I could live with it.

FSW shows HUNDREDS of quality matches each year, from leagues all over the world. If a couple of commentators are what you have to complain about, then you should start a stupid thread about it.

Oops. Too late.

Ahhh the Sky feed and Martin Tyler calling the ManU-Boro match. Maybe they heard you Cantona? A Boxing Day delight.

Err.. I mean the day after Christmas. And it sucked. And where was Veronica Paysee with her pitch...err...field side insight. Down with England and the rest of the Axis of Evil. LETS ROLL!

If thats the case - then it didnt work. There were a couple inferences of the Man U-Blackburn match result.

Thanks for making me laugh out loud so that everyone in the house could hear. It was a fine day for soccer, wasn't it?

Just got FSW on 12/24. A little Christmas present to myself. :)

Thanks, that oughta clear things up. I'm sure mr fsw producer won't provide any details, but does anybody else have an idea what these guys have said that might be considered offensive?

Wait, am I hallucinating or was there JUST a post here from FSW Producer explaining that some fans had complained about the way the English announcers were talking about the Chinese players. With that post gone, mine (above) sounds pretty ridiculous, no? FSW Producer? Where art thou?

Well, since nobody seems to care about my ON-TOPIC posts, I'll explain. I was not hallucinating - there WAS a statement here, briefly, in which a poster with the handle of "FSW Producer" explained that some viewers had complained about how the English announcers spoke of the Chinese players, so that - for the time being - games involving the teams that have Chinese players (Man City and Everton, is it?) would use FSW announcers. But then the post was yanked immediately, for some reason.

Did the English announcers made insulting comments about the Chinese players? What statements were used to spark the complaints?

That's my question, too. The briefly-existent post went into no further details. Perhaps it was simply a matter of them (unfairly?) criticizing the players' abilities. Or maybe there was some wording which is considered a slur in the US but is not in the UK. Anybody have a clue? Whatever, if this was the real reason, it demonstrates that Chinese-Americans make up a good (and vocal!) segment of the FSW audience. Something I did not know.

Jesus, you people...

Let me see if I have this right. A company is losing money to bring you live and tape delayed matches that you really, really want to see (and indeed, would have NO other way to see them)...and you're telling me that you WON'T watch anymore just because the announcers are annoying??

Yea, those guys really do suck. No way around it. They were annoying me all weekend. But, if I'm stuck with the choice of watching the Merseyside derby with lame announcers, or not watching it at all...well, that's a pretty easy choice.

What a bunch of f'ing ingrates.

I remember an FSW game, with the original announcers, calling a player a "Chinaman," which isn't PC. I think that word was used in the late 19th century in a derogatory way, but I'm not sure. Anyway, when I heard it on FSW, it really stuck out...sort of like if you hear a black person described as a Negro. It's just a word you don't hear here anymore.
