Hearts website will be updated at 6pm with a statement about the club's management team. Rumour has it that Burley has walked already.

Just heard this. Something definatly hasn't been right there.

It's a shock, Not quite sure what this will mean for Hearts.

A shady Russian or Baltic manager, I guess :)

Not surprised in the slightest. Romanov has been messing him around from day 1 and something had to give eventually. Whether Burley finally had enough and quit, or told Romanov to stop messing around and was therefore fired is irrelevant. Burley leaves Hearts top of the league and therefore leaves with his head held high.

I wonder where menace is? :D

I reckon Romanov will be taking charge of team affairs, the egomaniac!

that's nuts.

Once again a chairmans ego gets in the way. After Romanov signed a player without even talking to Burley it wasn't going to be long.

It's good to know that someone will be free for when Souness is sacked on monday. :D

Could be a straight swap with Souness going to Hearts.

"It is understood Burley's relationship with Lithuanian major shareholder Vladimir Romanov had completely broken down. The initial problems surfaced over the club's transfer policy, with players signed without the manager's knowledge."

As little as I care for Hearts, this is still crap. We'll see what they bring in, but there is no reason Romanov, or anyone else for that matter, should have treated Burley as anything less than the best manager available.

I feel very very sorry for all the Hearts fans out there. Their dream season has now been ruined.

Too early to say whether the season has been ruined, they've quite a few talented players that might be just fine. Definitely is marred though.

This is an absolute kick in the head. The team is doing so well, why would they throw it into disarray at this point.

There was rumbling earlier in the season when the team brought a brazilian youngster on board w/o Burley having ever seen him play that he (Burley) was unhappy.

I suspect that control issues of that nature led to this result.

Damn shame, really.

What is it with former Soviet owners? Roman and now this clown.
Like Russia or the Former Soviet Union Countries are loaded with gobs of footie talent.

This is only a rumour but it sounds quite plausible to me.

Its been common knowledge that VR and GB dont get along.

GB has been saying for a while now (behind the scenes) that he will be off when a better job offer (FROM ENGLAND) comes along.

He was "tapped" about an upcoming vacancy, possibly Villa, during the last week and Hearts got wind of it, pulled him up and basically they agreed to "part company". Apparently he was overheard saying he could "take some of the players with him".

Terrible timing but we have been tested before, and this is just one more obstacle for us to overcome on our way to greatness :)

At least it gives the Hibs fans something decent to talk about.
