Yes, a self-loathing thread. I know we're all music snobs, but there has to be songs that the general high-brow music-loving public abhorrs that you just can't stop listening to. Now's the time to come clean.

I'll start.

I love A New Found Glory - their singer is terrible, their composition and lyrics are so amateur, but they're one of the few artists that I still actually BUY from when they release anything.

That one Eiffell 65 Album - I've had it on my iPod since I bought an iPod and it will never, ever leave although I can understand how terribly bad it is.

He wrote so many good songs, it's not even funny.

I'll do you better, I love all 80's hair metal, from Photograph to Ratt, to Winger, to White Lion, and I'm actually not ashamed to admit it.

Regarding the thread, I actually like My Chemical Romance and Fallout Boy stuff.

I never understood why people would be embarrassed about the music they like.

If you like it, great. If you don't, great.

Who cares if a song is done on a computer with a drum machine or orchestrated out with a seventy piece symphony? if it entertains you, then listen to it and be proud of it.

I have musical taste that many people think is terrible. Doesn't bother me. I would much much rather listen to concocted pop music than the Beatles any day of the week. I got no problem admitting that. Why is it so bad to like music that musical snobs deem bad?

Not that I'm really embarrassed, because I agree with Amerifolkguy, but I did get a lot of grief in high school for liking Linda Ronstadt.

I've also taken grief for liking the Carpenters, but that don't fly because Karen Carpenter may have had the best voice in women's popular music.

Super Trooper by ABBA. :o

Wait ! I have a valuable explanation (excuse), this is one of my first musical memories.

I like various japanimation OST, songs. Well, it's not the kind of thing you tell to people before knowing them...

There's also this unpleasant reality that you also sometimes come to like what's been planned by the music industry to become a big selling tune, you then realise that you're no better than the others ! :(

Yet, you're still above buying them thanks to your superior moral principles ! :D
