Just here to pimp this cool metal web site I frequent. Has a lot of good info, a store that is still in its infant stages and a small forum. The guy who runs it is doggone cool and provides lots of updates on the metal scene. The forum is also in its infant stages but it could, and should, grow into a nice community. I encourage all the metal-heads here to check it out when time is available. Stop by and say hi in the forums, my screen name there is Voodoo.
the site (http://www.livingformetal.com/)
the forums (http://www.livingformetal.com/forum/Default.aspx)
Thanks, and I hope to see you all there!

Doesn't seem like too many people care, but what the hell.
Bump!
Also, if anybody is interested in reviewing for the site just send me a pm and we can talk.

personally, i hate guys who are doggone cool...
this is residue from Jr. Hi. for me when i was not cool, at least not in the Ken Kesey/Tom Wolfe/jazzbo way.
metal has never been cool. far too self-conscious.

Metal was cool at one time. But then it got highjacked in the 80's and turned into corporate pu$$y metal.
I'm not impressed with current "metal" acts either. At least not the tripe that is passed on as metal. It's just noise. System of a Down, noise albeit sprinkled with moments of brilliance. Slipknot, terrible garbage noise. The list goes on.
Fortunately, there are some decent rock acts around these days. But metal is dead and has been for some time. :(

Your listening to all the wrong bands, then, if you mention System of a Down and Slipknot. I cannot clasify those bands as metal. Metal is far from dead. The problem is the bands you hear of are being marketed as metal when they are far from it. Pretty sad, really.
So far I have only posted 3 reviews on the site. Dream Theater - Octavarium, Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine, and Opeth - Ghost Reveries. Soon to be up is Into Eternity - Buried in Oblivion. There are a few other reviews from other people and I think there is good variety.
And to royalstilton: If you think Rob Halford is too self-concious wearing that crap than you and I have entirely different idea's of what that word means. ;)

Excessively conscious of one's appearance or manner...

Nah, I figured there are a few good metal acts here and there. I don't listen to the bands I mentioned, and I already said that sh!t is only being passed off as metal.

ostriches don't actually hide their heads in the sand, either, but Rob Halford is probably the most self-conscious performance artist in the history of rock.
don't you think he's trying to appear "butch", not that there's anything wrong with that???
