that and the value of players on the market is really really high right now so its tough to get rid of an 18 year old that can be trained for more then 10k

i missed buying a 19 year old who was a respectable/competant bowler, medicore/feeble batsmen, with medicore stamina for 350k. i put my last bid in before I went to sleep and when I checked in the morning I had had been outbid and I missed the deadline by 9 freaking minutes!

that's a nice player but I can't see myself spending over 300K on a player right now unless he'd be the best on my team at something... at the stage I'm at there's no need for a bowler who can bat as I've already got a good allrounder and a batsman who can bowl is useless unless he can give me more bowling than some of my other bowlers...

I also don't trust the market right now players are being over valued and undervalued at the same time... I'll only buy if I think its a steal.

sad thing is that he would've been one of the best on my team.

I think people have been shying away from training 19 year olds. But I had a pop from my 19 year old in batting after 8 weeks, although he was 18 for part of that. He had 3 batting sessions for a week, but had two the rest of the time.

Nice player though, I would think you would get good money for him. Just not from me :)

he's only averaging 14 runs w/ the bat this season but that's in just 3 innings as my team hardly ever loses more than 4 wickets hence the reason an allrounder's not necessary. His career average is much better at 42.5 and he's a very good bowler, nice econo-rate and a good wicket taker as well.

If his concentration was a little higher I might jump at that.

The problem is there are not too many of those types out there and so when they do show up they do go for upwards of $500K

how bout we meet halfway... 450K... I'm really not interested in going lower than that as finding another all rounder of his caliber will be hard and will likely cost me just as much.

as for his conc. he is a bit hit or miss... but he's an attacking player and I've played around with some batting line-ups to make the most of him... w/ moderate success I gave him an opener's role w/ very attacking orders... I also sometimes play him as high as 5 or as low as 8.
