Time to get ready for this match. I dont think Lyon needs to put their best lineup out for this match which means they can play a 4-4-2. This would be a good match to start Fred. Frau is the only OL player who will be absent.

never under estimate... if the greeks play well, it could get tough (rivaldo is out though...) ... i predict lyon will win 2-1 (i'm 1/1 so far this week with my 0-0 man utd/lille game)...
allez l'ol!!!

a very busy week for me, so i haven't been able to get much posted here. and i hope to leave early today and get some family time in before boys' night out.
anyway, the starting 11 looks to be:
-------coupet---------
RVR-cris-caçapa-berthod
diarra---juninho---tiago
govou-------malouda
-------carew--------
the only real questions concerned possible starts for fred, wiltord and abidal, but houllier is going with the guys who have already lined up the most in the big matches; logical.
for the greeks, rivaldo is out, but they'll still have every reason to go for the win: they're not chasing OL directly, so they don't care if we get the 3 points.
all in all, i expect a real show. i wasn't at the ajaccio game as my wife and daughter labor under the delusion that there's more to life than football, but gerland is hotter every time i've been in 2005; they've replaced the CRS with firemen because one of these nights we're gonna burn the place down! maybe tonight!

That is definately their strongest lineup but I dont think you need that for this match considering Olympiakos arent a great team. I think Carew and Fred should both start and also Pedretti instead of Tiago. If they use that lineup listed above I expect Fred to come on for Carew in the 2nd half and also Wiltord to come on for Govou in the 2nd. Abidal, since he's just coming back should be held out for the entire match.

Frau is the only OL player who will be absent.i think lyon does need to put their best foot forward here. at the end of the group stage, they need to be one of the biggest winners, the leading scorer, and basically inspire the football world at large to say, "reputation and history aside, on pure form, OL are the monster team, one of the favorites." the respect they need to avoid another kimtastrophe they earn now.

Yeah what Im saying is that Lyon doesnt need to put their best lineup out there in order for them to win this match so why not give guys like Fred and Pedretti a chance to start. Maybe Houllier wants to guarantee qualification right now and not risk anything bad happening later.

Maybe you cant attend every game but youre lucky to be able to go to any at all. I'd love to be living in Lyon for a while.

Pretty uninspired so far eh? When does Carew come on?

Ooops, there is my answer. Carew on for Fred at the 70th.

Yeah, Carew came in for Fred and Wiltord for
Malouda 5 mn. later.
Bit uninspired, true. Olympiakos defends well,
sure and they can also threaten on counters.
This should have been put away, already...

Scary, but they got it done. I think that seals up the qualification, barring a major catastrophe.
