Ciriaco Sforza will leave the club due to difference with coach Henke.
Sforza is known as a very "difficult" player and had always Trouble with his coaches. (Rehagel, Hitzfeld, Jara...)

That is unfortunant. They need leadership on the field and has brought that in the past.

I didn't get the see the last match, but Die Roten Teufel made their comeback w/ Ciriaco Sforza subbed out. I think that says something. I think the game has past him. It's time for him to get that contract in UAE or one of those countries that pay big bucks for has-beens

Yep, that's him alright. The same attitude got him kicked off the national team in 2001.

The guys I know who "live and breathe FCK" (Zak knows who I'm talking about) say that they feel FCK acted ultra-sensitively here and were too harsh with Sforza.
Now again, these are guys who live and breathe FCK. They live in Kaiserslautern and are close to the situation.
Whey they blame the club instead of Sforza, I tend to believe them. Even above the media and the club.
None of these guys have any "blind loyalty" to Sforza. They are like that about the club.
And even they say the club was wrong. That says a lot to me.

Maybe this is just the case of the straw that broke the camel's back. By itself, whatever got Sforza filed might not have seemed significant, but in aggregate with all the other stuff that preceded, maybe FCK just said enough was enough. Sforza's reputation does precede him a good bit, and my view from a distance is that he seems like one of the clubhouse cancer guys who will always wear out their welcome.
This could also simply be a case of Henke asserting his authority, showing the players who's boss. Sforza's antics, even if relatively tame, may have worn out his welcome.

From all I've received from Germany today, it's a "preemptive strike", but nothing Sforza did with or to the team. This is all their perceiving Sforza to be a threat to what Henke is trying to do there because Sforza was "quietly critical".
I just told a guy on my list what I'm ready to tell you guys now. Sometimes you can't judge a guy merely on what he's done in the past.
I'm not saying Sforza is a "Boy Scout" or is even innocent in this case. However, what I am saying is that I think it's wrong to automatically condemn him as the guilty party because of his past.
I'm not saying Sforza has changed, but some people do change.
I'm curious to see where he will wind up. He's not the player he used to be, but I'm sure someone will pick him up.

Interesting...I guess we'll never know exactly what happened.

Good question, perhaps Marcel Koller will try to bring him to Bochum?

Interesting interview with chairman Jäggi in the "Rheinpfalz" today...
"What Sforza wanted was nothing less than Henke`s job!" he said.
I think it was the right decision to suspend "Stinkstiefel" Sforza.

Oh. Of course. We all should know Herr Jaeggi would just come out with the entire truth. He'd never say anything just to uphold the club's position......
What's the deal with this thing, Betzenberg? There still seems to be doubt. Did they "suspend" him or did they "fire" him??
From what I'm told, they "fired" him. Dissolved his contract.
Going from your name, I thought you might know. Thanks.

I read somewhere that Zandi is going to start in place of Sforza. The article said that he was definently gone. I would be interested in the whole story as well.

I have heard that he will stay an employee of the club until his contract expires in 2006. Hi will receive his money and he is allowed to join the training but he will not play anymore.

I've heard pretty much what you have. That FCK was trying to dissolve the contract, but couldn't come to an agreement with Sforza and will leave him suspended for the remainder of the season.
