Australia & NZ (well the top 2 Oceania teams which should be them) should play with the top 10 Asian teams in 2 groups of 6 - top 2 from each group qualify.

That way they get a reasonable number of games at a good level, and potentially 2 Oceania team could get to the WC if they are good enough.

Picture direct qualifying - Aus or NZ turn up at the WC with 2 decent games under their belts in the previous 4 years and go out 0-3. Why bother going?

I will go out on a limb and say that Portugal will not qualify for Germany 2006. Czech Republic will qualify and England is my pick now to win if they find a strong keeper to replace Seaman. from CONCACAF the USA, Mexico and Honduras or Costa Rica will qualify.
